Honestly came because our friend said it was good. But I found a tiny worm in my pasta and saw it move. Friends saw it too. But when I told the server/owner about it. She took my plate and took the mushroom which had the worm on it, and said “no. It’s part of the mushroom” and then I saw her pinch it in-between her fingers. And then gave me back the plate. I should have taken a picture but I was just shocked. To show but yeap. Really wanted to like the place. But after that I had lost my appetite and just left it as it was. If I get sick. Then yea.

Update and reply: the only reason and clarifying the above statement. I had taken back the dish because of how the person who took the mushroom and said it was part of the mushroom’s reply. It was a little defensive and I was taken aback. So I just did not want to escalate anything because I just wanted to have a nice first time in Byron with my friends. Also I did not exactly agree that it was part of the mushroom. I just went “oh.. okay..” with a questioning face. I had 5 other people with me and they know and saw that I had not finished my plate. They also saw what I saw. So in regards to what you’ve replied. I only took it back because of how I was replied to. My conscience is clear. I know how much I managed to eat after. And felt sick and queasy after the situation/interaction and also after I ate. (And also...

Me and mrs found the place in google with the good reviews as we made a reservation at 7pm on 02nd Oct 2025 (today), we got there by 7.03pm and had our table reserved with my name (Nick) written on a piece of paper and the people on the queue was almost standing on the table, we had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated and nobody came to us get our order, asked from a staff and advised we need to come through the queue to place the order as no one would come to our table, there were almost 10 people were waiting and I became the 11th, no one had pre reservations I beleaguered as we could see the all limited number of tables were fully occupied plus over heard the conversations of them, got my turn to order by around 7.30pm, saw the chefs don’t use any food safety measures ( no gloves, not covering head hair), saw a chef grabbed few huns with bear hand cut and dipped them in a container filled with garlic sauce), after hardly choosing one option out of 7-8 few pasta options they said they can’t make the spice garlic prawns pasta as they dont have stock, the lady was at the front said if they ran out anything from the morning trading that item is not available for the dinner lol,...

This Pasta Bar really shoked me in a good way. I am really big into Italian food and tavel often to italy i am from germany and at least 1 to 2ice a year i am there so i know good food and i wasnt expectig such authentic italian pasta in australia i ate an aglio e olio and it was amazing frech garlic some chillis and the parsley in a perfect balance not to hot but also not like ther is nothin. Also i tryed the garlic Bred and the Tiramisu both tastet realy good. There Was just one litte Thing of for me and that were little bradcrumbs on the pasta but they fitted very well but usualy you dont get that but i also loled the crunchy Textur it addet. Overall the service is sooo nice and very fast also the prices are so fair and the Ambiente is also so calimg and relaxing why i Took one Star of the Ambiente ist because you are sitting Kind of in a little street and some people will go trough therw i personally dont mind but i guess other people do so i wanted to mention it. But if you ever come to Byron Bay go there try it it is sooo good belive me. Never thought that i would get this good pasta in Australia for this prices. At least...

Charming spot for authentic Italian pasta 🇮🇹 Dropped by Puglia Pasta Bar recently for a pasta fix, and it truly delivered. We started with the arancini, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside — a great way to kick off the meal. For mains, we had the Pesto and Aglio & Olio — both dishes were fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The pesto had a rich, herby kick, while the aglio & olio was beautifully simple and garlicky, just as it should be. The atmosphere is inviting with a classic European touch — think traditional tables and a cozy, laid-back vibe. You can check out the setup online, and it’s just as charming in person. Staff were a bit reserved but polite and efficient, which suited the relaxed pace of the place. Perfect for a casual meal that feels a little special. Would happily return!

Bit of a hole in the wall setup in an indoor arcade with tables and chairs either side of the thoroughfare. Once you get over the initial shock it’s not a restaurant as such the food is very good. BYO but no wine glasses, order at the counter. Small menu done well with generous portions. Don’t believe it’s handmade pasta but good quality and delicious. Pesto good ✅ ragu good ✅ arancini crisp with an oozy mushroom cheesy filling ✅ I will say we had the pear and rocket salad which was just fine except for the addition of red peppercorns which are pungent and too overpowering and spoilt the dish - if chef reads this - just don’t do it!!! Good value in Byron Bay

I was surprised that this place only had 4 choices for mains as I wasn't expecting it. But I guess they do 4 mains and they do them well. I ordered the ragu. The tagliatelle is al'dente! Very good. Sauce was ok but not enough in my opinion. Good portion for the price. Located in a little alley way with one old school traditional street light. Cute but didn't quite set the ambience like one would expect, in a little alley way in Italy. Also would have been good if I had the company of a Sauv Blanc, Chardonnay or rose to go with my pasta. Good price for a hearty carb load meal. But I won't be running back soon.
