We went to have dinner at Nandos Carousel for a special occasion on Tuesday afternoon. Nandos was quiet, as expected for a Tuesday at 6pm. We sat down and ordered from our table to ‘skip the queue’ as suggested by posters in the restaurant. We ordered and was given an ETA of 15 minutes from the app. This ETA seemed completely reasonable (give or take a couple of minutes and depending on how crowded the place is) based on previous dining experience at Nandos.
We were a bit shocked that the tables were dirty all around us, the condiment table had no sauce, no extra plates no napkins at all. We had to ask for napkins and take sauces from other tables. We waited past the 25 minutes mark and were disheartened when customers who ordered in store after us received their order before we did. I had walk to the register and wait in line to enquire about our food and missing drink. The team member who was handling the registers wasn’t even acknowledging the line of people in front of him. While I was waiting in line one team member brought the food to our table and pretty much threw the plates of food on the table. He did the same with the other round of food he bought to our table. (We got our food after more than 30 minutes from ordering).
The disappointment did not end with the wait. The chicken was missing marinade, the chips did not look like the size we ordered. On top of that our chips was a combination of cold chips mixed with fresh ones. Disappointing considering that by the time we were served, there were 6 to 7 tables who also all seemed to have ordered chips and a few uber/doordash drivers or people ordering take away waiting for about 30mins during a non-busy period.. (Side note; while in line before, I overheard a team member being really rude to someone who asked how long their order was going to take to be ready).
It is sad that on a quiet Tuesday, nothing seemed to be in control and the people waiting to get their food all left with a bitter experience.
By the time we were done eating, nothing was better. The condiment stand had one fork and I overheard customers say there is no cuttlery, tables dirty again and not cleared or cleaned.
We went there with high hopes for a birthday but walked away angry, sad and disappointed at the same time.
I definitely would not recommend dining in at Nandos...

Our visit to Nando’s Carousel on Friday, 25/07/25 between 8:15–9:00 PM was an absolute disgrace — and I’m done staying quiet about it.
Before ordering, I clearly asked the staff how long it would take, because we had a movie to catch in 45 minutes. I was told it would only take 5 minutes. Based on that promise, we placed our order. What happened next was beyond frustrating — we sat there waiting 20 minutes with no food, no update, nothing.
When my husband went to the counter to ask, another staff member casually said the food was already ready and just sitting there. Really? No one could be bothered to bring it over or even say a word? This isn't the first time either — this is a pattern at this location, and we're sick of it.
But the worst part — and what completely crossed the line — was the manager’s behaviour. When my husband politely gave her feedback and pointed out that this keeps happening, she sarcastically snapped, “You should try working in hospitality.” Loudly. In front of everyone. That was not just rude — it was flat-out disrespectful and completely unacceptable.
When I walked up to ask for the manager, she smugly said she was the manager. Honestly, if this woman is running the place, then it’s no wonder the service is a joke. Her attitude was disgusting. No one — absolutely no one — talks to my family the way that shameless woman did. Her arrogance, her sarcasm, and the public humiliation she caused were completely out of line.
We were so angry and disappointed, we did not even finish our food and walked out. The entire evening was ruined because of her appalling attitude.
This isn’t just bad service — it’s a complete failure of basic human decency. If this is how Nando’s allows their “managers” to behave, it’s an embarrassment to the brand.
We will never return to this store, and I strongly urge others to avoid it. There’s no excuse for this kind of treatment....

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Nando's Carousel that left a lasting negative impression. Upon arriving at the restaurant, my family and I noticed that the table we intended to sit at was dirty. We politely asked a staff member—a young Chinese girl—if the table could be cleaned. Rather than responding in a courteous or professional manner, she replied rudely and made it seem like our request was an inconvenience.
Not only was the response disrespectful, but when the food was eventually brought to the table, the same staff member was noticeably distracted and appeared to be making personal plans or dates during work. This behavior was highly unprofessional and reflected a complete lack of customer service skills.
We also raised our concerns with the store manager, who was also Chinese, hoping for a better response. Unfortunately, the manager was just as dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging the poor service, we were met with more rude responses and excuses about how busy they were. Being busy should never be an excuse for treating customers poorly.
If staff are unable to manage customer service during peak hours, it is a clear sign of poor training or a lack of leadership. Customers should never be made to feel like a burden for asking for basic cleanliness and respect.
We left feeling disrespected and deeply disappointed. This experience has led us to decide that we will not be returning to Nando's Carousel, and we do not recommend it to others. Good food cannot make up for poor service and...
