Friendly staff, very bland food and we left half of our drinks there coz of screaming kids in the venue but no one is doing anything. Not a relaxing environment at all, very disappointing that we thought despite of all the negative feedback we'd give it a go but yeah not coming back.
Respond to business owners rely: Thanks for the reply, Joseph. Perhaps next time the staff could lead the kids and parents to a quiet room/location away from the main area, that way it's more settled to everyone as I could see the mother of the children was also anxious of causing so much noise in the hall of the hotel/restaurant. When we spoke to the waiter the first time about the noise, he showed the sign of not knowing what to do except telling us a kid fell over and that's it. It sounds to us like "tough luck, deal with it, nothing I can do" kinda of response. Again I really appreciate the good service we received on the night, but perhaps some more targeted training on how to navigate the situation when unexpected circumstances happen is needed at your venue so that your staff can show empathy as well as managing other customers' experience. Thanks for taking the time to provide response...
Read moreHad been here when it first opened, nothing fancy but good schnitzel and salmon. Booked a table specified a booth please for a casual dinner with friends, arrived on time and shown a table wedged against the bar, as it turns out a thoroughfare to the loos. When I asked about the booth booking, they said wasn’t in the booking, which a short time later they realized it was and offered to kick some people out of a booth. Really. Long wait for a drinks order. Ordered “Elderflower Gimlet / Bombay London dry gin, St. Germain + lime juice” came back a short time later, sorry no lime juice. After a long wait had to ask for our food order to be taken by Staff gossiping at the bar beside us. I ordered the “Grilled Chiverton Pork Loin (GF) Cannellini bean, chorizo and apple cassoulet / 32”. lonely lion floating in some tasteless sludge, and given a spoon for the sludge with several beans and still looking for the chorizo or chorizo flavor. Having been in the hospitality industry for 30 years this is a sad unfortunate tale. And no schnitzel or salmon which to my experience would be a staple for this style of, dare I say it, restaurant,...
Read moreI am disappointed writing this review as I have been to this restaurant a few times before and have never had any complaints, this time was very different.
I had the fish and chips but the batter was quite oily so couldn't eat most of it. The rest of the table mostly had steak and I didn't hear any complaints. I had Chocolate lava cake for dessert which was nice.
The service however, has definitely gone down hill.
It took a long time for our table of 9 to be served and when that did eventually happen, we were not asked if we wanted drinks and my partner had to try and attract the attention of someone to order drinks. The young waitress was lovely but didn't ask any of our party if they would like to try the red wine we eventually purchased and poured too much in each glass, there were 6 people having red, which meant we had to purchase another bottle so the 6th person could have some wine.
I would go there again if I was just going out for a casual meal with my partner, but I won't go there again for a special occasion which this was. Very...
