Pho Hub is a venue with an identity crisis, can't decide if they are a Vietnamese or Chinese venue.
Great decor but full of dust acumulating elements overhead. One thing that does remind me of Vietnam is the clutter of boxes, ingredients and buckets lying around the venue for guests to see. Feels like the management just doesn't care.
Tried to provide table service but can't even do it properly. NO menus were given, NO water was offered, NO drinks order was taken. Despite there was only another table of 2 guests who had been served. Menu were not removed after orders were taken. COME ON that is table service 101. They would probably be better off with counter service. Payment at the counter, so again, why not just do counter service and save the extra steps.
Decided to try the Pho since it is advertised as a Vietnamese venue. Decent serving size despite being regular. The soup based was not hot enough for the beansprouts and richness of soup was a little bit on the bland side.
One last thing to highlight was that while wiping the table after guests, it might be a good idea to spray into the cloth and not directly onto the table with the chemical mist from the spray going everywhere.
Overall, a mediocre experience and perfect for diners who don't mind fast food and don't need...
Read moreI am a regular customer of this place. They have very nice range of menu. I like how they have XL size for the beef noodle soup. It is usually very filling. I also like their clay pots. I was never disappointed with claypots. They also have some intersting dish called campfire something. I havnt had chance to try this one but i would love to. It looked very interesting. They simply put your bowl on fire. Their service is outstanding. They are friendly and have cozy environment. Comfortable seats with relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. If you are a fan of coriander, dont forget to tell them that you want coriander in your food because they dont usually put coriander in their food from what ive experienced. If you are in belconnen and a fan of vietnamese food, you should try this place out. If you want to be safe, you should order claypot or the vietnamese beef...
Read morePho Hub is a delightful suburban Vietnamese restaurant located across the road from Westfield Belconnen (next the bus interchange).
The restaurant was fairly busy for a mid week dinner but we were able to get a table without a booking.
They had a good range of Vietnamese favourites including Pho, vermicelli, Bun Bo Hue, rice, rice paper rolls etc as well as a number of more Chinese style dishes including shan tung chicken and chilli beef and the like.
We ordered the Special Pho and a Combination Laksa. Both were a decent size and reasonably priced, at just below and just above the $20 mark. Both soups were on the lighter end in terms of flavour and consistency however both were still tasty and very much enjoyed. We'll be back to try more items from the...
