The Shed Café — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

I visited this coffee shop last weekend around 3 PM for a coffee and a small snack. After finishing my food but not my coffee, I stepped away for about five minutes to use the restroom in the shopping center. When I returned, I found that my table had been cleared, and my belongings had been removed. The staff member told me it was because my plate was empty. While I understand that tables need to be cleared for new customers, I had left my coffee and my belongings there for a reason. When my belongings were returned to me, I realized my 1L water bottle (which was still half full) had been thrown away. The staff member simply told me it had already been binned. I was quite disappointed—not only did I not get to finish my coffee, but my personal item was discarded without any consideration. I was still planning to order another small coffee, but given the situation, I would have appreciated even a small gesture of goodwill. Instead, when I politely asked if they thought replacing my coffee would be fair, the staff member showed no apology and instead told me it wasn’t fair to them because I hadn’t informed them I’d be stepping away. To make matters worse, while we were discussing this, a customer briefly queued and then left, and the staff member directly blamed me for it, as if I wasn’t also a paying customer. This made me feel dismissed and unwelcome. I understand that communication is important, and perhaps I should have informed the staff I was stepping away. However, as a local business, good customer service should also be a priority. A simple apology and a bit more understanding would have gone a long way in turning this into a positive experience. I hope this feedback helps improve the way customers are treated...

The Shed Cafe Belconnen, at Westfield in Belconnen, for lunch , the first time there 😋.

We ordered at the counter, and the staff is super friendly as he takes our order. As he asks, take the number for your table.

Amazed how soon our food 😍 arrived, the waiter brought us our meals 😋, as he asked, do you like I bring anything to the table, will go extra make the customers happy 😊.

Chicken Schnitzel Wrap, with homemade 😋 Schnitzel, cheese, greens 😋 coleslaw, chilli 🌶 Aioli. Homemade Chicken 🐔 Schnitzel, with fries 🍟 served salad 🥗. Gravy sauce 😋 or cream mushroom sauce 😋. The chicken meat is so tender and tasty 😋.

Amazing Smoothies, Mixed Berry 😋, mixed Berry's, honey 🍯, milk 🥛 and ice cream 🍦. Mango 🥭, mango 🥭, milk, honey 🍯 and ice cream 🍦. Peanut Nutella, peanut 🥜 butter, Nutella, milk, ice cream 🍦 and 🧊 ice.

The Shed Cafe (Belco) i ordered Scrambled eggs on toast with Mushrooms on 27/5/25

When I received my food without the mushrooms, I told the staff member that I ordered mushrooms with my scrambled eggs on toast.

He said that I didn't order the mushrooms, It was like the staff member was blaming me for his mistake,showing me the order docket as if I made the mistake 😠

I had friend with me, who heard me say wanted i mushrooms with my scrambled eggs Even my friend told them as well.

Then wanted to charge me $5.00 extra for the mushrooms.

I was disappointed as it was a treat for me. Having a meal at cafes is expensive these days.

Maybe the staff member should read back the food order to...
