We've been going here on and off for decades. Never been the best or the most amazing but they consistently serve pretty alright food, more than worth the usual Perth prices. We had a last minute change of plans so decided to have dinner out on NYE 2021 tonight. The only place we could find any availability at was Cicerello's. Understandably almost everywhere was booked out. And we were so glad we ended up there. We were absolutely blown away. It was packed and people were still ordering well beyond their closing time when we left. You'd have thought it being NYE and so busy, the food quality would be subpar. But no! The very opposite occurred. We were beyond delighted with our dishes. The flavours were perfect! I'm not sure if it's under new management or new chefs or a particular chef on duty last night, but I really wanted to highly praise the food. Hubby got battered whiting and chips, while I had the $50 seafood platter. Although they were flat out, the staff were always friendly and smiling. Even when I was being difficult and asking for tobasco sauce and to have a fresh oyster, instead of kilpatrick it had come out with, they provided me lots of sauce and just gave a new oyster, all with a genuine smile. What a lovely restaurant! Now on to the actual food. The little raw oysters were full of the taste of the sea; the grilled barramundi excellent (and I usually hate grilled fish due to blandness and texture); calamari perfectly crispy; battered snapper good (I usually don't enjoy snapper); garlic prawns perfecto; chilli mussels soft and its marinara sauce so beyond sublime, I couldn't resist, with no shame, drinking it down; the chips weren't bad so I could not help but consume them whole with my generously provided tobasco sauce... The only negative I will give honestly is how the lobster was a bit tough. Overcooked maybe? It was still delicious with the garlic on it regardless. :) Ahhhh... We were so happy. :D Also decided to be naughty by having some black forest cake & gelato. Pretty darn yum. What an amazing last meal of 2021. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience! We'll be back for certain. Happy new year!!!!! Extra notes: The exterior was decked out in the brightest Christmas lights I've seen. Love it! And of course my little one adored...

Love all the seafood options. Option of sitting inside or outside. Gelato & cakes desserts available after a good feed! Parking available nearby. Love the big fridges offering drinks & sauces before going to the counter to order your food.
1st visit; was pretty popular & noisey with my newborn - which is okay as I’ve had him use to background noises - although it wasn’t appreciated having people bump into the pram as we made sure to sit somewhere plenty space possible. As we received our food, instantly there was hair in my Seafood Tray & had given back to remake. Had asked if we could replace the coleslaw but told that we couldn’t & if we wanted to remove it the cost would be the same (approx. $24 rounded up). Seafood Tray was very delicious and very satisfied with my meal - very filling!!
2nd visit - seemed much quieter due to very hot weather! It was complicated finding a table as majority of tables were not cleaned. At the counter to order, the lady said that we could replace the coleslaw for salad - wish had known that last time as it would’ve been nice.. As we received the food, it looked different to me but couldn’t point it out till now. The calamari rings were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!! I wasn’t too fond with the rings with this meal and swore I loved them a lot last visit.. but realising now, this was the reason. This has bummed me out quite a bit as I love my squid rings.
Each visit, have spent under $100 between two people.
I was wanting to have something different such as the burgers, chilli mussels or the lobster meal - although I was really craving the Seafood Tray again.. BUT till next time & I will review again trying something...
Read moreReturned here for the first time since awhile. I liked what they did with the inside area since, made the place feel less cramped and the kitchen looks more open. Seats are also better and well spaced.
I noticed that there is improvements in their food too. The chips were really nice. Fish is as good as usual. And the Seafood Chowder is still the best I’ve had in town. Generous serving even for the small size. I also liked the fried sausage which I usually buy for my kids. The beef cheeseburger is alright.
Menus may not big as big as Kailis but their selections were decent.
I also liked the fact they now serve beer on taps. Not much selection but still better than nothing. Price was reasonable, $7.50 for a middy and $12.50 for a pint.
During our visit (Sunday morning) there was also a local magician who walked around tables entertaining the kids. Mostly making balloon puppets. It was a quite nice touch. And the fact they hired an old grandpa age entertainer to do this makes me appreciate the fact that they still care for the older generations too.
Service were pretty good too. Staff was really attentive. We sat near the rear door and it was a really windy day. So the staff made sure the door was closed as much as possible. When someone left it open, they were onto it immediately!
All in all, I was really pleased with our visit. I’ve been here multiple times since 2001 and can say that there is a definite improvement made. I’m so...
