Patio Bar — Restaurant in Fremantle

I visited Patio Bar recently with a friend and overheard one of the owners (the tall skinny one with dark hair, I think his name was Kim) and a bar guy (short with dark wavy long hair, beard) making rude remarks to each other about my friend's appearance, and laughing and being sneery. They were stupid enough to think we were either deaf or not within earshot. It's exhausting as women to be under constant surveillance and scrutiny of the male gaze. Toxic masculinity is at it's worst when men bond over demeaning women. Normally I don't bother to leave bad reviews, especially for small businesses, but we were there to check out the new space as we often went to the XWray, and what was so disapointing was that it was not just the bar tender, but we realised one of the guys was an owner. Incredible food and a beautiful wine list. The staff are all gorgeous and super kind, it’s clear they love where they work. Cocktails are delicious and the vibe is very relaxed and cosy. Bright and classy, and casually understated with a great outdoor area and smoking section. DJs are epic, live music there is awesome and they do random events from charity gigs to hospitality dinners and cameo kitchen takeovers. So glad this venue is being used again as it has a lot of nostalgic great memories for many. The perfect edition to Freo. Nice little place tucked away down a side street. Has great live music and a nice range of alcoholic beverages. Also, they have a great range of non-alcoholic drinks.
