Haeduri Chicken Southport (해두리치킨 사우스포트) — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I want to give 3.5 stars but google doesn't let you. Overall disappointed and the 5 star reviews looks like they were for the free drink they offer if you give them a 5 star rating.

We got the rose tteokbokki and UFO chicken. The rose tteokbokki had barely any rice cakes in it, was overly sweet and zero spice so nothing to balance out the sweet. It tasted fine but just not what we were expecting with a spice level rating of one chilli. Zero chilli in it. Also came out warm, not hot.

The chicken UFO thing was crap, chicken tasted fine, chose sweet and spicy and the soy flavours. Sweet and spicy was again all sweet, no spice, zero chilli at all it was hard to eat more than one. The cheese was incredibly disappointing and had no flavour to it. Just a gag. Not enough cream to make it into a sauce so it was hard to dip. The chicken was better off on its own.

Hot chips were banging. Best thing we had tonight.

The service was lovely though, staff were friendly and the shop was very clean. Laid out pretty well and nice open front. But they have these fans all along the open front blowing in so our little gas BBQs wouldn't keep the flames even and it took so long to melt the cheese and we had to use plates to block the wind blowing the flames out. I will say for the price it's fine, fed 4 people for about $20 each so if you're looking for a simple meal it's not too bad. Just don't expect the 5 stars everyone is rating unless you want a free drink.

Can't account for any other menu items but I don't think I'll come back to try anything else if the fried...

We found out about this new place only a few months ago in October 2024 after our holiday in Asia. We were looking for a good meal and have returned here so many times now (November 2024).

Not only is the food is splendidly delicious but the service is beyond amazing. Staff are friendly, not your normal service you would get at a local cafe, it’s high-tier service. It shows that staff has great Customer Service skills and are going over and beyond to keep their customers coming back and make them regulars.

Now, let’s talk about the food. Honestly, it’s 10/10! Hubby and I normally order the Sweet and Spicy half serving takeaway. The chicken pieces are juicy and crispy to our liking, chips are very very very (not exaggerating) delicious. With my extra Volcano sauce on the side as a dip, these make a drool-worthy meal. Hubby loves the Aioli sauce too.

We haven’t tried dining in yet but I can guarantee it’ll taste so much nicer being freshly served. However, just our preference to eat at the comfort of our own home. In saying that, the seating arrangement and decoration in-store looks outstanding. Definitely a hang-out vibe.

I hope Haeduri will keep the quality of their meals and the impressive vibe they deliver.

Would hate to see stores like this lose customers due to lowering quality/service, like majority of other stores that we know of did.

We went to Haeduri after having dinner at another place, and we just could not choose only one dish.

It seemed like every table had two or three dishes at least, and while waiting and looking around, we kept spotting more and more dishes we wanted to try.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and I felt so glad we chose this place. I definitely want to come back again and try the rest of the menu!

I had heard that their rose tteokbokki is even better than in Korea — and it was honestly better than I expected. I think I will end up ordering it every time I visit.

I imagine their rose jjimdak would be amazing too, if they ever add it to the menu!

It was a full house on a Friday evening, but even so, the food came out surprisingly fast — which made the experience even better.
