Paid over $7000 to stay at Chevron Renaissance Private Apartments for 3 weeks from 01/10/24-22/10/24 so still here. Staying in unit 2193 which is managed by Coastal Letting co. Our first night we spent over 3 hours cleaning the apartment because it was filthy, an absolute disgrace. The dishwasher didn't work and stunk like sewage she to decaying food bits inside, the washing machine was putrid and also stunk because the lint filter was full and mouldy and I had to pull that apart and clean both that and under the lid where the hinges are because it was so filthy it looked like it was growing pubic hair. Also, the clothes dryer doesn't work, it overheats after a couple of minutes because the exhaust blower belt is busted and so the reset button does nothing. There was a thick layer of dust over literally every surface, around the doors and the architraves. Coastal Letting expect you to clean the place before you leave but the vacuum cleaner is so full of dust is overflowing into the compartment where the bag goes, the suction is poor and the exhaust air stinks, plus there are no replacement vacuum bags. They have provided a mop but there's no mop head or bucket of we want to clean the tiled floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. Because the dryer doesn't work we can't dry the linen so we thought we'd use some of the linen from one of the single beds. We pulled the top sheet off one of the single bed's, which had obviously been made up by housekeeping, only to find a great big patch of dried urine on the bottom sheet that of course also reeked of stale pee. This is just disgusting. The glass patio doors are dirty, the dining table is dirty and the rug in the lounge on which the coffee table suits is covered in stains, the old couch has heaps of crap between the cushions and the carpet throughout the place is dirty and needs a steam clean. The bath/shower in the 2nd bathroom only has 2 sliding glass panels because the 3rd one must have broken at some stage and is sitting in the closet in that bathroom next to the very old and extremely noisy top loader washing machine. The clothes basket is even broken and missing a handle up one end. All we have to dry our clothes and towels etc is a tiny little clothes horse. These properties are managed by a real estate mob named Coastal Letting co, Their statement says:(We offer a range of well-maintained apartments across the Gold Coast for you to choose from. With 30 years of tourism experience, continual apartment maintenance and upkeep, competitively low rates and 24 hour guest services, allows us to remain strides ahead of our competitors). If this apartment at the Chevron Renaissance is an example of what they offer then Ebert should be ashamed of themselves. They charge top dollar and offer accommodation that obviously hasn't been maintained at all like they claim. If they had shed even a cursory glance over this property before leasing it out they would have seen that it was dirty and the appliances were putrid and broken, not to mention the scuff marks all over the walls which could do with a coat of pain to bring it up to an acceptable standard. I paid for this through the Agoda app and the pictures they showed of the Chevron Renaissance resort apartments, which were modern and clean, were the same pictures they showed for the private apartments yet they are not. The resort is modern and clean whilst the private apartments are old looking with old furnishings and appliances that in this case are filthy and broken. It's an absolute indictment on Chevron Renaissance /Mantra that these private apartments are leased under their name. I mean, you can't even contact staff here if you have issues because they don't service the apartments, Coastal Letting co do and their office is 1.3klms up the road and not available 24/7. The dishwasher was finally fixed a couple of days ago but I've heard nothing about the clothes dryer. All this has made both my wife and I extremely angry and has impacted our enjoyment on this holiday really badly. We feel we deserve some compensation.

There is no place to park while checking in. You just have to set down in a keep clear zone and hope you don’t get towed or fined. When we arrived, there were already four cars lining the keep clear zone where reception is so I had to do multiple laps of the block. Reception told us to just “park wherever”. The location of the resort is great. Very central to the main shops, restaurants, bars. The beach is less than 500 meters away. We stayed in a 3 bed, 2 bathroom apartment with a pool view. It had two queen beds and two single beds which worked for us (2 adults and 3 kids). The beds were rock hard with springs poking through so sleep wasn’t very restful. The general state of the room was pretty disgusting. There were stains on the curtains, carpets and walls. The artwork had tears in it. The balcony furniture was rusted and peeling. All of the furniture in our apartment was very old and cheap quality, beds, couches and dining chairs were uncomfortable. The wardrobes in each of the bedrooms had three hangers and the master bedroom had no drawers at all to put clothes in. The appliances in the kitchen were very worn and some well past any kind of useable state. For a room that was supposed to accommodate 6 people, there were two 2 seater couches which meant we couldn’t all sit down to watch TV at once. One of the couches was fine but the other was rock hard and not able to be sat on for any extended period. There were only 3 chairs on the balcony, so again only half our group could sit out there at any given time. The TV didn’t work, but maintenance came up and fixed it strait away. The maintenance guy was amazing, in fact all the staff were great. Really friendly and helpful. There’s no room service, mini bar or in room food delivery. You could order limited food from reception, but you have to go down to collect it, so it was easier and cheaper to just go to Coles. The room has a kitchen however, with no cleaning supplies, using the kitchen involves purchasing all your own cleaning products. Housekeeping only comes once a week and they do a pretty ordinary job. The floor was sticky and there was a residue over everything they “cleaned”. They didn’t top up any of the “complimentary” things like tea, coffee or shampoo. I guess for $7000 I don’t expect to have to supply my own bin bags and dish soap, especially when you get fined for not cleaning up!! I learnt while we were here is that all of the apartments are individually owned and Mantra just manages them so there is no consistency across any of the rooms. If the owner maintains the room and puts care into it, you’ll get a nice room, working appliances and modern fittings but, as in our case, if the owner doesn’t, you get a room that is run down, grotty and hasn’t had a coat of paint in more than a decade. The public areas of the resort appeared to be well maintained, clean and tidy. There was no rubbish, hazards or mess. There were plenty of chairs and sun lounges. Each of the outdoor pools had BBQ,s and plenty of tables and chairs. None of the spas were operational, the sauna was closed for maintenance and the theatre was closed. There are three pools, the beaches in the sky which is the big one, an indoor heated pool and another smaller outdoor pool. The indoor heated pool was quite small and often overcrowded. Given the size of the resort, the indoor pool is woefully inadequate. There is a really small playground suitable for really young kids only. The games room has about a dozen coin operated arcade games and a handful of claw type vending machines where the prizes had been in them so long they were faded beyond recognition. The games machines all needed maintenance as they tended to swallow the kids coins without registering a credit more often than not. Would I stay here again? Honestly, probably not. The price point is just too high for what you get and you can’t be sure what standard the room will be. We essentially paid for a 4 star prices and got a 2 star experience.

My recent stay at the Tower of Chevron was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my experience to caution fellow travelers. Right from the booking process, red flags were apparent. Despite intending to pay with my credit card, ( I paid $200 via credit card ) I was blindsided with the demand that the remaining balance could only be settled via bank transfer within next 24hours. This lack of transparency, combined with the rudeness and lack of customer skills exhibited by the individual handling my booking, Vickey, set the tone for a disappointing stay. Furthermore, the primary reason for selecting this accommodation was its advertised indoor pool and sauna room, particularly suitable for families with young children who might not enjoy outdoor pools. However, upon check-in, we were informed that the indoor pool was closed for maintenance throughout our entire stay. Despite our dissatisfaction and requests for compensation or alternatives, our concerns were met with indifference from the management. Adding to the disappointment was the absence of bathroom facilities near the outdoor pool area. After using the outdoor pool, guests are left with no option but to return to their rooms without showering, with only a small, dirty toilet available at the pool area. Despite the hotel's advantageous location, its infrastructure, and surroundings, including the Tower of Chevron, it's apparent why it struggles to maintain a favorable rating. The focus on profit over customer satisfaction, evidenced by exorbitant fees and a disregard for guest comfort, tarnishes what could have been an enjoyable stay. In conclusion, I urge the management of the Tower of Chevron to take immediate action to rectify these issues and prioritize customer welfare. Prospective guests should approach with caution, as my experience serves as a cautionary tale of disappointment and frustration.

We essentially paid for a 4 star prices and got a 2...

We stayed here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We arrived at 7.30pm to no staff and an after hours caller to assist us in collecting keys from the safe. We went up to our room tower 3 to find it disgusting and dirty the oven havnt been cleaned I over 6 months there was dust built up for like a year. A roll on in one of the rooms behind the blind as well as a dirty used tissue on the floor. The couches were stained. Because no one was at reception to help us I called after hours who advised me of another key in another safe we could collect and stay there for the night tower 1 We collected the key with a letter which reads - sorry your room wasnt up to standard we appolgise for the inconvenience please take this roo. For 1 night and proceed to reception in the morning from 8am. by the time we got to this room with just some of our bags as we left the rest in the car it was 10pm with our 2 children this room was just as bad as the first room the oven again wasnt clean.there were tiny bugs all over the kitchen stained blinds and couches the aircon didnt work so the appartment was super hot we were only on level 4 so couldnt keep the doors open or window to let air in. We got up in the morning to get ready we hardly slept as we didnt feel comfortable when we go to reception at 8am I was asked what the issue was I proceed to tell the receptionist to be told that they dont open till 9am I proceed to speak and show pictures In which case the lady was amazing and sorted another room in tower 2 we had moved 3 times and we had been in all 3 towers which was of much better state. However the cleanliness side was still not great, our children had found toys that had been left in the apartment, dried coke in a glass in the cupboard on a top shelf, nail polish remover wipes in a drawer in the ensuite. Toilet in the ensuite was not cleaned properly and still has urine Mark's and poo on it. There was a blood stain on the mattress. Finger Mark's on the cupboards and the fridge was dirty and the cupboards dusty. We had our parents also come up and stay for a night to watch the kids which we went to a different hotel we had called reception to ask where we could park the other car they advised to park in the visitor carpark and they would organize another park and advise security of the car in the visitor car park and they would sort it the next morning. As it's a towing section. Well the next morning the car had been towed! I had complained again and got no response other the oh so sorry that happen. And nothing else even tho it was their staff who advised of this. I'm not someone who complains about anything however this place was disgusting and I will never stay here again. Super disappointing when you are trying to celebrate your 1st wedding anniversary I also have photos however unsure how to attach. Sorry but I would like to understand that through covid these room should be of.high standards

3 towers 3 rooms and...
