Mr PP's Rooftop and Laneway — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I’ve been to Mr PP’s twice now, and have enjoyed it both times. The food is wonderful, and I do recommend a sharing style meal with your group because there is just so much to try. Whilst it's not overly creative or out-there, each dish is close to perfect for what it is.

The service is fantastic. The staff are friendly, helpful and experienced, which is important to me as we were eating in a large group with some dietary requirements. Our server in particular, Monica S, was kind, helpful and attentive. She was even able to charge my phone for me when I asked!

The only slight issue we had was that we were offered a sparkler on the cake that we had brought, and when the cake came out there was no sparkler, but this is in no way a big deal. Just make sure that if you have your heart set on sparklers or candles that you double check with the staff.

The atmosphere is lovely and the whole setup and concept is really cool. For a Southport location, they’ve managed to actually make it quite nice. Due to the size of our party, we were sat at a high table. The only problem with our seating was that the chairs were hard metals stools with no back, which was uncomfortable for our older family members, but totally understandable on the restaurant’s part, and I’m sure if you request something else in advance they will be happy to accommodate.

The food is on the dearer side, and I would go here for a casual lunch, but for a special occasion or event, or if you have a lot to spend, it is definitely one of my favourites on...

I can’t speak highly enough of our experience at Mr PP’s. The place itself looks great. Great amount of seating and variety of tables indoors and outdoors. They have heaters to keep you warm if you’re outside and rooftop is covered so you can still enjoy it in the rain.

For drinks we ordered Prohibition which was divine and the other was a station something and was delicious.

Starters were garlic pizza bread and the antipasto platter. We cleaned out both plates. The garlic bread had big chunks of the most tenderized pieces of garlic. Beautiful. The arancini was the most flavourful I’ve ever had. I think there was more mushroom in there than rice. The olives, fab. The first bite of the cheese felt like a punch to my salivary glands. I had to take a minute! Perfection.

Mains were margherita pizza and smoked almond pizza. They were both divine. You’ve never had a pizza like the smoked almond. You have never.

The servers were absolutely lovely. Very quick to come if we needed anything, asked if we wanted chilli oil which we keenly said yes to. Surprise, surprise - it was also gorgeous.

Food came out very quick. Bill came to $140 for all the above. Quality of every element in the food is very, very high. Great music but not too loud that you have to shout to speak. Plenty of folks there on a Friday night laughing and chatting. Great vibe.

Our only regret is not discovering this place sooner than we did. We will undoubtedly be back for more of their amazing food, drinks, service...

💋I was fortunate enough to win tickets to the monthly comedy show hosted at this venue. An experience that I greatly appreciated, because it was so good.

What I hadn’t initially realized was that guests also have the opportunity to purchase lunch during their visit, which I was so excited about because FOOD. I was thankful I decided to skip breakfast, as the food served was absolutely exceptional, truly divine.

The staff at the venue were outstanding, especially Evva, providing attentive and friendly service that enhanced the overall experience. The culinary offerings were equally impressive, exceeding my expectations with their quality and presentation. My favourite dish was the arancini balls, believe me, it was next level.

The comedy performance itself was fantastic, entertaining and engaging, making the entire event a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. We mustn't neglect to mention the rooftop, it truly elevated the entire afternoon. Furthermore, it was an exquisitely sun drenched day, neither too warm nor too cool, merely perfection itself.

Prior to attending, I was unfamiliar with Mr Pps Rooftop & Laneway, but winning tickets to this show has proven to be a valuable opportunity. I will definitely be returning in the future to enjoy both the entertainment and the exceptional cuisine once again.
