Muffin Break Robina — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Last month (April) I headed into the shopping centre to claim all my birthday freebies. Got my Boost, a GJ coffee, some free chips & wanted to get a muffin. I found Muffin Break! Normally I go to the Garden City store, but we were watching a movie in Robina that day.

The lady smiled at me when I popped in. She said hello to which I said hello back and said I’d like to claim my free birthday muffin, holding up my app. Her smile was instantly washed away and I was left with what seemed an emotionless human ‘serving’ me from then on. She said “you tell me which one” and so I pointed and asked politely “May I please have that one with the white chocolate”.

She then proceeds to bag up the muffin in such a way that when i eventually opened it, there were marks from where she had taken her displaced anger out on the muffin when scrunching the bag. She popped it on the counter, said “yep, thank you ok, bye”

Now, I’m not sure why I was treated like a thief, when she was the one who stole MY enjoyment. She didn’t ask me if I wanted it microwaved. I realised this after a few steps out of the store and was going to turn around and go back and ask her to do that, but I thought hmmm, no better not it might make matters worse.

Thanks though, to the cafe down the corridor who kindly microwaved the muffin for me in place of muffin break.

I’ve read a few reviews about this store, mine is purely my own from my own experience and not biased from others reactions to their own dealings.

So at 2.25pm today I tried to take my very elderly parents for coffee and muffins here, somewhere we have always enjoyed. When ordering we were told takeaway only and the girl started putting our muffins in a paperbag. I queried and said we are eating in and why not coffee and our muffins on ceramic. She said they were closing. I queried and asked what time? 4.00pm she said! It's 2.25pm, why can't they provide the service we normally receive. Obviously wanting to go home early and cant be bothered washing more crockery. Don't worry about the customers or the businesses reputation. It's 1 hour 35 minutes before you close. Not impressed. We left and went to Mrs Fields and got great service and our coffee in ceramic. If you want repeat business, its time for some serious staff...

we muffin break for a muffin and a coffee and we were ordering i felt like i was rushed with ordering when they were quite there was no one there i understand if they were busy but they weren’t. i felt rushed and before finished ordering the cashier just assumed i was done and was holding the eftpos machine out in front of me. after we had finished ordering we went to find a table the the state of the seating area was repulsive, the was food and plates left over nearly every table, even the clear tables still had food on them, the seats have food crumbs everywhere as well.

I know that they get busy but just have the runner of the food do a bit of cleaning please, so the customers don’t have to do it for you.
