Roti & Chicken Curry ($17.90): You can make your chicken to be mild, medium, or spicy and I think medium is perfect for me. The roti is nicely baked, buttery, crispy, and quite tasty with the succulent chicken. I also enjoy the potato and the broth which has an authentic taste of savouriness and richness of coconut milk. Lychee Coconut Water (Soft Drinks: $5): I’ve been a fan of original coconut water, but it’s my first time hearing and trying this one. It tastes even sweeter and better than the original one. In conclusion, the prices are reasonable and affordable for most people. The service is great, and so are the delivery speed and food portion. Besides, there are even the models of their popular dishes which can save your time thinking what to order. The restaurant is located in The Kitchen (southern part of the shopping centre). Overall, it’s a 9.5 out of 10!

You can get roti canai from a few places but it’s rarer to find murtabak, so whilst wifey enjoyed her Muso Ramen I decided to go for some Malaysian food from their neighbour, Roti & Buns: * roti murtabak, $15 - spiced beef mince and egg roti * iced ribena lemon, $6 Murtabak is more or less a stuffed/filled version of roti canai, so makes for a more substantial meal. The murtabak from Roti and Buns had no shortage of beef mince, and I was a happy camper. It came with some curry for dipping, and a few leaves of greens which looked pretty out of place on the plate but what the hey, I’ll eat it for health. And my drink contains fruit so I’m going to call that a balanced meal šŸ˜‰

Great lemak chicken curry. They used proper curry leaves and tastes like they also used Buah keras. Flavour was spot on for malaysian lemak curry. They use chicken thigh fillets, so nice and tender. The roti was reasonable in size. Not too oily and sufficiently crunchy. Good balance of healthy (less oil option) and taste. But one of the guys was quite dismissive whn I asked for a fork. Another staff member hopped up to get one immediately. I was just about to give the rude guy a mouthful. Service will depend on who is at the counter. Having said that, I went back to tell the kitchen staff that the curry was great. Would definitely recommend a try.

This shop make awesome Murtabak- especially for a shopping centre food court. Unfortunately they were hit hard by Covid and lockdowns and it didn’t help that they were situated at the butt end of Chermside Westfield. I’m sure they’d have got more customers based on a better location alone. I hope they return to the centre they are missed. Lemak- their Malaysian substitute that moved into the main food court is good, but they don’t have murtabak and their delicious chicken curry sauce that I could practically drink through a straw or drink on tap. Absolutely delicious. ā˜¹ļø Unfortunately Maroochydore and Robina are way too far to travel for it. Please come back to Brisbane.

Edit: I’ve tried calling this store numerous times (they have no voicemail) and aren’t answering to find out what their Christmas and New Year trading hours are. I’ve checked their website and there’s nothing- they still misleadingly have the Chermside store listed as active and trading when it closed at least 3 years ago now. Emails have gone unanswered. I’m starting to see why the achermsode store closed down. Good food but terrible mismanagement. Apparently keeping the business side of things in order isn’t of any importance to them. I have downgraded my review...

I ordered a chicken curry with roti and chose to dine in. As I was in a hurry I decided to take the roti home once I finished the curry part my meal. I took my tray up to the counter and asked if they could give me a paper bag to put the roti in. They asked me to pay 50c for the paper bag. I felt this was a bit silly and stingy of them. They watched me from the kitchen as I grabbed some free serviettes to wrap my roti in. The staff clearly refused to budge on their request for me to pay for a bag despite the fact that I paid for the meal earlier. I told them that this wasn’t cool and they just stood there without offering to just give me a paper bag.

The food was absolutely delicious! But the service put me off. I won’t be returning, because if they are that stingy with a bag, I’ll won’t be supporting them and I’ll choose another option at a place that values me as a...
