Diggers by the Park — Restaurant in Goulburn

My 'well done' steak was almost mooing on the plate it was so red inside - so that was disappointing. It came out quickly, but that was because it wasn't cooked properly. There was red juices on the plate and inside the steak and there should not be if it's well done. I did not enjoy it as a result and my husband ate half.

Nothing particularly stood out to my husband or I on the menu - we were disappointed that there is no mixed grill. Sweet potato chips with aioli would be a nice addition as well as another veggie heavy meal like an eggplant lasagne or something.

One of our kids had the macaroni cheese burger and thought it was good but the cheese overwhelmed the flavour of the patty and rest of the burger.

The kids cheeseburger was good, and the chips were pretty good.

The chicken sliders were nice.

The staff were friendly.

The dining area was largely tidy.

The kids play area is good, but that's not really Diggers.

Edit: We went back 9 months later to meet friends. My son had a hair in his meal but ate it anyway, minus the hair. My diggers burger was good. Very filling. Mys husband cut his burger in half to make it easier to eat and noticed that pretty much all the lettuce was on one side. The meals were filling. I called to book a table for father’s day. They happened to have a section for adults only, but didn’t ask if the booking included children. After I had ordered (for which I had given the table number), I noticed the adults only sign in the area of the table we were given. My order was on that table, so we couldn’t change at that point. The food came in three different slots (so three waitresses saw us there) and didn’t say anything before we started eating. It was when we were in the middle of our food that a waitress came to say that we couldn’t be there. I replied that it had been the table that we were given, she asked if I had said there was a children in the booking. Was I supposed to guess that I needed to say that? Then came another waitress and said that we had to move. We were in the middle of our meals! I said that if I left that table was to leave. Then came the manager to said that as soon as we finished, we had to move to another area. I never received an apology for their mistake and I don’t expect to receive it as a reply to this review. I am warning visitors to refrain from coming here to celebrate special days because the staff here will ruin your...

So we ordered what I was told would be two lots of 10 x Nuggets from Tabatinga.. Then we ordered a plate of chips from Diggers on the park menu.. when the food was delivered we got 2 x kid’s nuggets and chips and a plate of chips.

We then mentioned to the waiter that we were told by the staff member that we ordered Nuggets only, we then decided rather than make a scene just to order another lot of 10 nuggets and told they were 0.50c per nugget. When the waitress walked off with the $5 for the nuggets I was then told that they now charged $1 per nugget.. costing an extra $10 on top of what we had already paid..

I’m not cheap.. but I would have been better off going to Maccas for nuggets.. at least you get...
