Too long didn't read: 45 minute wait for food despite the fact they were quiet Never received our coffees Can't make iced drinks Very disappointing food (couldn't eat some of it) Overpriced for the quality of service and food provided
My partner and I came here based on the 4.5 star rating but we left very disappointed. We went for lunch during the week and it was very quiet. We were seated quickly and we ordered coffees which were evidently forgotten by the waitress because we were there for over an hour and never received them. I also couldn't order my usual iced latte because they can't do iced drinks...
For food, we ordered a fromage toasted sandwich with a side of halloumi, risotto and eggs on toast with two sides of bacon. We waited 45 minutes for our food - during which time the waitstaff were MIA (busy dealing with another customer who received the wrong food order by the sounds of things).
The sandwich was soggy and didn't really have much flavour. The risotto was completely plain with nothing in it and it had a slight burnt flavour so I couldn't eat it. My partner said his eggs on toast was alright but again quite soggy. We received one well cooked side of bacon which was the best part of the meal. We assumed they had forgotten the second one (we had started sharing the first one) but it came out 5 minutes later. It was undercooked so we didn't eat it.
All up this was $76......... While we were paying, the waitress apologised for the delay and gave us a free slice of almond cake which was actually quite delicious. We still left feeling completely...
Read moreThe Pigeon Hole is just an amazing café and project by Richard and Belinda Weston. We were so lucky to stay at their AirBnB at Weston Farm for almost a month and now, being 20 000 km away, we miss it so much. The café showcases the amazing produce of their organic and biodynamic farm and we know that Richard and Belinda are using the food lab to coax the best flavours out of any ingredient they use. The food is soooo good. It is mostly organic, healthy, homemade, exciting and innovative. Their farm is such a great example for sustainable food production and, back in Norway, I use it quite often as an example for future sustainable farming that combines small scale farming and ANIMAL WELFARE. Their geese, chickens and pigs live some happy lives. They offer some of the best and thought-through food we have ever tried. If you have the chance, visit the Pigeon Hole. The place is really cozy. The food is outstanding. The staff helpful and friendly. Buy some of the farm products. The olive oil and the smoked paprika have won some prizes. The apricot jam is soo delicious. The sourdough bread is just as it should be. Yes, we...
