I can't say enough good things about The Stagg coffee! As a loyal customer for many years. I am always blown away by the exceptional quality of their coffee and the top-notch service they provide.

I unfortunately had a very bad service experience. I ordered 2 coffees (I was given to-go cups even though I was sitting down, but I didn't mind that). I sat down at the table which had the previous customers' dishes, but when I asked the staff if they could clear the table they told me "we aren't doing that for takeaway customers".

Furthermore, the bench had cigarette butts and a dirty needle in between the slats which is quite frankly disgusting. I understand that the benches on the street may technically belong to the city, but this cafe's clients are regularly using the tables and leaving their dishes on it - Stagg has a duty to keep these tables and benches clean.

This was the only cafe open that opened the earliest on a Sunday morning in Hobart. That’s a big thumbs up. This is a small and quaint cafe in the heart of the CBD. The coffee was great and the granola was excellent. This was a good find. Will be back on my next visit.
