We ordered a margarita pizza and the “fat chips” the absolute disappointment of a pizza couldn’t even compare to the pathetic excuse of chips they gave us. Not only were the “chips under seasoned” they had the gall to call those quartered potato’s chips. I understand that their “fat chips” were a quirky gimmick but they tasted so bland and had absolutely no crisp to them. The “pizza” they served us tasted like all the ingredients were store bought and only half of the slices had half a cherry tomato on them. They couldn’t even manage to put half a cherry tomato on each slice, 4 half cherry tomatoes for a total of 2 whole cherry tomato’s for a whole pizza, what a disgrace. Not to mention the absurd wait time for the food that was most likely pre-made, and to top this whole experience off, there was a cockroach in the bathroom, this so called “restaurant ” had the audacity to charge $18 for their pathetic excuse of a pizza, $12 dollars for two poorly chopped up potato’s and couldn’t even use that money to properly clean their facilities. I sincerely advise that nobody makes the mistake of visiting this slop of a restaurant and eating the trash they call food. Please find attached the photo of the cockroach in their bathroom.

Our group of twelve had an incredible meal last night at Sandbar in Huskisson, we highly recommend The Chef’s Table experience. Even our vegetarian friend was well looked after! Starters were buttery grilled large sweet scallops with seaweed dukkah from a local business PhycoHealth the improvised tuna ceviche - usually kingfish, was very fresh with plenty of serves for our large group. The oysters with finger lime pearls were ocean fresh and also a good size - for Sydney rocks The ricotta & honey-stuffed zucchini flowers deep fried in a tempura style batter was a great hit! For mains, the grilled tuna in tomato and ouzo broth with skordalia was perfectly balanced suttle and lite, large pork cutlets and duck portions were juicy and full of flavour. The duck fat potato's and charred medley of greens were perfect sides with what we had. Sandbars service was warm and friendly staff often checking if we needed drink refills and clearing the table for the next course. We certainly left with satisfied full bellies. Overall we had a fantastic memorable dining experience - especially great to find a restaurant of this calibre open on a Monday.

The food and service was amazing!!! We had salt and pepper squid, chicken bao buns and mac n cheese croquettes for our entree then had the Caribbean chicken for a main. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, to the point we had to roll out of there 😅 We were there on Thursday night and the live music created a perfect atmosphere. The Google ratings don't do this place justice. Definitely recommend this restaurant, and would 100% eat here again next time we're in town.

We had a dinner booking for 5:30pm for 3 people on Saturday 5 July.

When we arrived, everything was fine. The male waiter (had an accent) seemed a bit scattered but got it together eventually.

We had a big lunch so just wanted something small for dinner and i said as much to the waiter when he took our order.

We ordered the kids Hawaiian pizza, the kingfish ceviche, the roasted scallops and the confit duck.

I distinctly told the waiter that although we were ordering 2 starters, we wanted all the food to come out together so we could all eat together.

The kids pizza came out first and then about 2mins later, the kingfish ceviche. I thought ok, the next 2 will be here in a sec. 5mins later, the scallops came out. Then at least 35mins later, my confit duck came out.

The menu said confit duck came with fondant potato and mushroom jus, nothing else listed on the menu for this dish

It came out with broccolini on it. I hate broccolini but worse still, what would have happened if i was actually allergic to it? The broccolini had touched all the other food items on the plate so the whole dish would have had to be redone and that would have been another 35min wait, all because it wasnt stated on the menu. Yes if i was allergic i would have asked the question when i ordered but regardless, i believe it still should have been stated on the menu

We were looking forward to enjoying a meal together as a family with my husband and I celebrating our 23rd anniversary

Eating on my own wasnt a very fun occasion or a nice way to celebrate

We were offered complimentary drinks which we declined as we did not want anything else to drink

We were compensated with a free dessert that we did not get to choose, instead, it was brought out to us while i was STILL eating my meal

Kitchen team - the meals were delicious. The baklava dessert we received could have used the nuts to be more of a finer paste and could have been soaked in more honey/syrup as it was a bit dry but the flavour was still there.

For us, this experience was let down by lack of communication stemming from the wait staff with the kitchen

Won't be rushing back to eat here...

This will be fun after reading the responses from the owner and his reply to this. Firstly, had a great waiter, top marks. The food, hmmm, ummm, look, just find somewhere else to eat. Seriously. The mussels looked they used dish washing water or someone had a bad curry the night before and could only use the mussel pot. Actually that would’ve had more flavour. Was suppose to have chorizo of which I managed to find 4 small slices. The pizza, looked like some kid had decorated with his brothers leftovers after finding a base in the back of the freezer. Ridiculously over priced also. Spoke to some locals the next day and told them our experience, they just laughed. Their response, “Yeah John owns the caravan park and motel next door and couldn’t sell the restaurant”. Id love to know where in gods name he found the chef, maybe gave the prison chef a break on his release. Do yourself a favour and avoid this so called “restaurant”. And probs the caravan park across the road and motel next door as well if this restaurant and his responses to other negative reviews is an indication of his professionalism. Ooops, have to go, tummy is rumbling again. Ha ha, “Tony’s” response, “Get a job”. I know nothing about restaurants so I’m a shoe in at...

I’m not someone to go out of my way to post reviews but this one certainly deserved it. Food was poor. Ordered the salt and pepper squid and was served with sweet chilli sauce, had to ask for lemon and aoili. Seemed to be rationing the lemons as I was given 1/2 slice of a lemon slice. Chicken in kid meal was burnt, pizza was terrible , for $18 I would’ve expected something at least average but this was below average. The entire lot of meals except the snapper that came I would grade a 3/10 for food. In fact one family suggested to call in Gordon Ramsey. Would pay no more than $5 for the quality of pizza. Regardless of time you arrive before kitchen closes you expect food to be well cooked and quality. This was one of my worst dining experiences in a while, perhaps because of it’s location people pay the money but definitely need to provide value for money . Disappointed to say the least. Not sure where the amazing food is that other reviews comment on. Always a pleasure to see staff disrespecting customers also. I believe was the manager? Then reading some of the responses to reviews on here. Appalling and will make sure not to come again. Waste of money.. Respect, professionalism and appropriate business manners...
