Read moreBento has been my favourite place to eat in Launceston for years now, so it pains me to leave this review.
I ordered a fried chicken roll, a smoked tuna roll and a side of fried chicken. I was told the side would take five minutes since they were out. Fair enough, it's the dinner rush.
Ten minutes later and I was handed my order. When I got home to eat, I found that every aspect of the order was incorrect. Instead of fried chicken, dumplings. Instead of smoked salmon, fresh salmon. On the fried chicken rolls, no sauce. None.
My wife's order wasn't spared either. Her vegetarian spring rolls were burnt (and had what looked like chicken bits on them) and the fried chicken sauce from my order ended up on her tofu roll too.
Rather than spend the 20min drive back to get the order, we just decided to deal with it and eat. Sadly, the food itself was quite bland, a big step down in quality from what we have enjoyed over the past few years.

The beef Yakiniku were slightly on the salty side but otherwise tasted tender and were marinated well. My favourites were the tempura bit. Tempura fried just right (batter is crisp and melts in the mouth) and I am glad they used fresh prawns and vegetables. Overall, a very satisfying meal! The...
