After an enjoyable family bike ride, we all were hungry, wife suggested going to the Oxford Yard for lunch. We had been here a couple of years back and I recall vividly having an unenjoyable meal of a lamb burger with a very thick and partially eggplant! I while I was hesitant, I thought it would be good to give them another chance. I layout and decor of the cafe is good, lots of outside seating well suited to accommodate cyclists, and very pet friendly. Inside the cafe it has a modern industrial look some additional seating. We all started with some juices, smoothies and a chocolate milkshake, these were all fantastic, we all really enjoyed them. And well presented too! Food wise the menu is well balanced, lots of good choices, catering for vegans and gluten free. Prices are standard. Staff we’re friendly and accommodating. The kids and I had the burger and the wife had the halloumi stack. The burgers were good, but there were a couple of issues for us! Firstly The homemade pickles were too sweet for our liking, really didn’t compliment the burger in our opinion. Secondly the meat had an aromatic that all three of didn’t agree with. My eldest and I both finished our burgers, but youngest struggled with the flavor. Side of chip and the aioli were great! Wife enjoyed her Hallomi meal, very nicely presented. I overall we enjoyed our second outing at the Yard. I’d like to give it a 3.5 star rating for our experience. We will be back be back, on the strength of their menu, for more...

Came here the first time to try the pancakes but they had sold out so I ordered the dirty fried eggs instead which I enjoyed. Came here the second time to try the pancakes and they only had two more servings left (as we had ordered 3…not too sure how you sell out of pancakes and it’s basic ingredients?). The pancakes were okay, there wasn’t much of the caramelised banana and it didn’t look as good as they had posted it to be on their Facebook page, the taste was also average. We also ordered the breaky burger - this came with hollandaise sauce which was placed on top of the burger. I get that this makes it look aesthetically pleasing but it made it very messy as you would normally eat a burger with your hands. I think it would be better if the sauce was inside the burger but on a positive note the hash brown was house-made. It is a little crowded inside as where you order is where staff enter/leave the kitchen area.

I went to this restaurant for breakfast on Sunday around 11am. It was quite crowded and we were told that our breakfast would take 45 minutes. However, it took about an hour for our food to arrive. The staff was friendly and polite, but the service was not particularly exceptional. The portion sizes are quite generous, so I think the meal is more than sufficient for one person. I ordered tea and poached eggs on toast, which was fine. My friends ordered other dishes, which they said were "just okay". I think the price of the breakfast is a bit high, but the large portion sizes make it somewhat justifiable. There is plenty of parking available in the area.

I took me 30mins for 2 cups of latte. I understand its a busy morning and dont mind the wait but the thing disappointed me was no one calling/noticing me when it was done, it was sitting there for ages and I had to approach the counter and asked for it. Got the answer that it has just came there, but ice was almost all melted (?) just apologies, don’t lie to your customers šŸ™‚ I was there, saw them made it but just wasn’t sure its mine so I kept waiting. This is what offends me the most. I order 2 to take away, and no one offered me a tray or anything to carry. So I had to walk with 2 coffees and a slice on my hand. So if you want a coffee on the way to work here, maybe dont, you might be late because no one cares to deliver your order. Otherwise, it has nice outside area for breakfast if you have 30mins to wait for your coffee, let...
