While waiting for my pizza I could watch the dishes being prepared, which was interesting. Up to 5 in a small kitchen gets very busy and can create confusion. This also happened with my pizza, after taken out of the oven, it was first put on a plate for dine in and additional toppings put on, then the toppings were removed again, then it was put in a take away box, same toppings again put on, but also with also fine grained parmesan which I explicitly ordered without. When receiving my pizza I mentioned that the parmesan was wrong and the surprising unfriendly answer was that I should just remove it myself, which is impossible unless you remove the other toppings with it. So I had to ask to replace the toppings a third time... This is not how you treat a customer! The pizza had a good crust and was ok, found it interesting that they also put some salt flakes on it and some olive oil on the outer crust, which added...
Read moreBelow average, well below average. Ordered something with pear on it (yeah i know). It was like eating just a pizza base, had very little flavour. If it wasn't for the fact that it was dripping in grease, it would have no flavour at all. My wife ordered something different, even that wasn't much better.
If it wasn't fot the 'tourist ' trade, I'd be surprised if they'd have any trade at all. If this place was anywhere else, it would survive.

I’m not from Lorne, so everyone I spoke to about the pizza and this restaurant were raving about it, thus getting my hopes up. This pizza and service was unfortunately average at best. Too much oil, crust is burnt, bottom is undercooked, toppings fell off. The chef even said my pizza had no prawns (which it did as I ordered prawns, so no issue there). To pay $50 for a pizza on a public holiday is bizarre. Never heard of that in my life to do a 20% surcharge on a public holiday, but my guess is that’s to cover the employees who work cash in hand most likely as they don’t get public holiday rates. Simply put, if you’re not from the area and are accustomed to quality pizza, I don’t recommend this...
