It's a shame that such an amazing cafe has got incredibly poor service. Yesterday around 1 PM (Friday 3/10), I went to pick up a toastie and I was met with one of the rudest servers I've ever encountered. When I went to ask her a question about the sandwich after ordering she replied to me rudely "HA?" because she couldn't hear me which I disregarded. Then I noticed she was rude to every customer that came in. One asked what the soup of the day was and she bluntly responded with "there's no more soup" and this went on for several other customers. If you're going to be rude at least be good at your job because she was so slow with serving food and toasting up pre made sandwiches. It took her nearly 10 minutes to hand over a toasted sandwich and when she did she was just blankly looking at me and holding it out for me to grab it. I have worked in incredibly hectic, busy and gruelling customer facing roles including retail but have never taken it out on customers. From nearly all the reviews I've read, poor service seems to be a trend and I highly encourage the owner looks into this because this cafe truly has so much potential but the staff are definitely holding it back. The food and coffee at this cafe is so amazing but this lady completely ruined the experience for me and turned me away from this cafe. The rest of the staff were friendly and the guy who took my order initially was super warm. Maybe she should take some notes from him and the rest...

The continuous stream of customers didn't hinder the exceptional service provided by the staff, who effortlessly managed the crowd while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.
Housed in an old weatherboard building, The Peacock beautifully preserves a rustic charm that sets it apart from its urban surroundings. The restaurant manager sets a welcoming tone, ensuring every guest feels valued throughout their dining experience. Despite the busyness, the staff graciously navigate through the customer traffic, ensuring everyone's needs are met.
Our entire group was delighted with the food, which truly surpassed our expectations. Each dish was prepared with excellence, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen. And of course, the coffee was exceptional—a delightful complement to the fantastic meal.

Read moreWithout a doubt a very specious cafe. Living locally we wanted to try somewhere new for our Sunday brunch, we landed on Peacock due to their high rating. Despite the initial enthusiasm from both the great exterior and interior design, right from the get go of stepping inside, things started to fall apart quickly, starting with our interaction with a very apathetic younger waiter who really didn't want to be there. We ordered two meals and watched in frustration as multiple groups of people, including a group of six, who came in 20 minutes after us started to get their food before us. With multiple false promises from the older gentleman, "it will only be 5 minute", and "1 minute just getting it ready", we ended up feeling completely disregarded and left without eating after waiting more than an hour.
Absolutely terrible experience with the only redeeming part being the younger waitress at the front counter who let us have our average coffee on the house, but still will not...
