Went on the Friday night. No day of the dead costumes, decorations or activities, which the advertising indicated there would be.
Food was mostly Spanish and South American and like one Mexican Street food. Honestly looked like a food festival rather than a day of the dead one. Stalls where people selling stuff was great.
Didn’t get the point of the barrier around where the music was. Could have made it open and have a stage so people can see rather then being crowded around the DJ in a tent. Literally didn’t get the point of the fence being there. Did see some random people dancing they seemed to enjoy it.
There was no decorations and no activities for the kids. Not even a themed face paint area. They easily could have added more decorations around the park. Hanging on from tree to tree. More skulls, colourful fabric or picado banners. More colour.
Location was amazing. Grass was green, lots of room. But there was no chairs or tables for those who can’t sit...
Read moreI had been looking forward to some mexican/latin food all week. After finishing work at 8pm I checked the website and facebook to try and see what time this event would be open until. Everything said 11pm.
Well we got there at 9:45pm and there were three food stalls still open: churros, lukumades/lemonade, and asian street food.
What an absolute bummer and waste of a trip. If you’re going to advertise that a food & music event is open until 11pm you need to have contracts with your vendors to stay open until 11. Otherwise you should say food until 9 and music until 11. Really...
