wanted to try this cafe today and after seeing the reviews it looked promising. coffee was excellent and food arrived quicker than expected even though they’d said it could be up to 30 minutes wait. that is unfortunately where the list of positives end for this cafe. we ordered a shakshuka and their panna cotta muesli special. shakshuka was somehow oily and watery at the same time with no flavour, chunks of vegetables thrown in and a pathetic serving of italian sausage on top (for $6 extra!!!) it was also served with some home brand toasted turkish bread with a smear of butter down the middle, meaning that the majority of it was dry and extremely unpleasant to eat. the panna cotta and fruits/muesli was dry and the ‘raspberry coulis’ that was written on the menu was actually just raspberry jam that was cold and gluggy. i had barely touched my food and tried to no avail to get a staff member’s attention to ask for it to be re-made. i even flagged over someone who i thought was the manager who ended up completely ignoring me, only for him to start working behind the coffee machine later. instead more worried about a lady who was getting something out of her car than a customer right in front of him. i tried for 20 minutes to get the attention of a staff member (there were probably 5/6 in a mostly empty dining room) and when this didn’t work i had to go up to the counter myself and ask for the meal to be taken off of my bill. the manager at the counter was extremely rude and cut me off asking for me to sit down and that he could have it remade. when i said i had somewhere to be and wanted it taken off my bill instead he scolded me and said i should’ve brought it to the attention of the staff sooner. buddy i would’ve if your staff gave two shits about people sitting in the dining room. i would absolutely not recommend this place, my experience was terrible and the staff and management would rather scold you than try to rectify a situation. there are much better cafes in the area to spend your money at instead.

Food was good, but - i got the burrito and asked would it be spicy or not? (It mentions chilli on the ingredients)… the person who took the order said if you want a little more spicy, will give you a bit of our homemade chilli dip on the side. I said - that would be great - and when i paid the bill it was 21$ for the special burrito and chili dip (3.5$ plus surcharge - 4$) Like seriously? 4$ for a teaspoon of a chili dip? Atleast you should inform the customer before adding it (hey it would cost you 4$ extra for the dip - no one would ever pay this much). I wish the owner sees this review and check with their staff if this was justified? I would have happily paid fifty cents more and grabbed a coffee for 4.5$ Note: stop lying to the people on your review replies mate - nowhere on your counter was the charge of the burrito/dip mentioned, you simple acted cheeky and added it through and asked me to tap. Not just me - in other reviews customers have shared the same. You’re living in a bubble if you think every cafe in Melbourne charges 4$ for a teaspoon of a dip. Before advising people to go to a 7/11 do yourself a favour and walk to other cafés in Southbank and check how much they charge for a dip (a dollar max)

Saporito was a café located near the arts precinct of Southbank. Contrary to most cafes in Melbourne city, Saporito was spacious, although the layout was a bit weird, as if there were 2 separate cafes in it, and the wooden-themed décor and the leather-like sofas made the place very dated and not very cosy. Saporito had a comparatively large menu unlike other cafes, which was great as there were heaps of classic brunch dishes to choose from. Their food seemed to be a bit hit and miss though; I’d had the shaksuka but its sauce was very thin and watery, the crispy chicken burger was very dry, but the French toast, served with generous syrup and fruit slices with crumbs to add texture, was delectable. Coffee was not the best, but still pretty decent, and the wait staff were friendly. Would return to try their other dishes (even though there was a surcharge on a Saturday!).

We ordered main meal food and drink from them and also brought a little extra outside food because of my dietary restrictions. I was asked not to eat the outside food despite having no signs around the restaurant. I told one of the waitstaff this. Apparently "common courtesy" to not eat outside food in a cafe. She was insisting. I walked away after a short conversation. I just wanted to walk away so asked another waitstaff to get a refund. The original waitstaff still persisted and came to our table when we just wanted to leave. She stayed in our faces asking what our dietary restrictions are and kept repeating "common courtesy". This only made me more upset. Then she had the audacity to say she doesn't like my attitude when I told her to stop talking and just walk away. I do not like having heated discussions with her who can't read the room and have such a big ego. They also didn't refund the service charge despite their lack of. Not eating here again and do not recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Not challenging your policy- that is why we left. If this was clear from the door, then we wouldn't have had this bad experience. If you dont want outside food, put a sign up by the door instead of telling your customers midbite they are not allowed to eat there. If the sign was up, we wouldn't have wasted our time from the beginning and just have gone to the cafe next door.

We eat out a lot and if we see this sign up, we just move on to the next cafe. Yes, plenty of restaurants enforce this but with signage so this is our first time being confronted like this. But I have also eaten in a lot more where they dont have this policy so saying...

I used to have brekki here last year, and I had good memory about this cafe, so I decided to have brekki here today.

I ordered 2 eggs Benedict with bacon, one with fried eggs (cuz I cant have raw eggs or runny eggs) and the other was normal eggs Benny.

When I was ordering food, waitress didn't ask me about hash brown but my friend. I was like why? We ordered same food.

When they served our food, both of them came with fried eggs. There was no hash brown on my plate even tho eggs Benny comes with hash brown basically regarding to their menu description. Why I didn't get hash brown when we ordered same dish?

Luckily waitress saw our plate and she sent one back for poached eggs.

Bacon was so thick about 1.5cm, if I remember right, it used to be just normal thin bacon. I checked Google photos of eggs Benny because I dont wanna make a big deal out of it if it was right. I wanted to make sure I got bacon not ham, and to know I was served with right dish. If it was meant to be like that, I would just remove the bacon and eat other things.

When I checked other eggs Benny photos on Google, the bacon was thin not like the one we were served. So I asked waitress if it is bacon, but she told me with annoying look "it is bacon!!"

Do you use different bacon for eggs Benny? Or changed recipe ? If so, That is fine, I just can order other food but why did I need to be yelled at? What's wrong with asking a question?

I usually work on week days so I can't have food there often, so I was so excited to have food from there today, but I couldn't even have half of food. I felt like I...
