We got the loaded brisket chips for $18 and the mega tasting plate for $50.
This is the best brisket I’ve had in Australia! The piece we got was really fatty and juicy, wasn’t dry at all. It’s really flavourful and tasty. The pork butt and ribs were pretty good too, they taste great but can be slightly dry. The spicy sausage was delicious too, you get one decent sized one and it’s juicy, flavourful with a slight kick. The mega tasting plate also came with 2 sauces, one with a slight kick and one that’s more savoury, and they both go really well with the meat. So if it’s a bit dry, just douse it in the amazing sauce.
I really liked the salad too. The pickles are really sour which provides a nice balance to the meat, like a palate cleanser. The salad also has celery which adds a lot to it. It’s slightly bitter but not extremely so it gives the salad and extra depth.
We came on a public holiday, so the mega tasting plate was around $60 and the loaded chips were $20, which is still a pretty good price for the amount of food you get. The mega plate was enough to feed the two of us.
Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want some really meaty food. The atmosphere is great, there was live music here, the tables are big and spacious, it’s a nice outdoor...
Read moreThis American BBQ place is just amazing! It's kinda hidden, not a place you'd notice by just driving past, so really glad we found it by chance online. The "mega tasting plate" was perfect for us (2 people and a toddler), portions wise but also flavours, because the pork meats are doused in very sweet sauce (which I avoided and my husband gobbled up) and I took most of the spicy sausage and brisket, and the meats are so tender! The spicy sausage can be too spicy for some (literally saw a group take a bite and threw away the rest of it!). The place itself has plenty of wooden picnic tables and bench style dining spread out, with interesting statues, games for kids (e.g. wooden blocks, kids axe throw, ride-on with foot car) and adults (e.g. pool, foosball, table tennis) so they've really made it this wonderful casual family friendly place to chill out at. Staff were lovely too. Plenty of free parking outside. Price guide (Sep 2024) $50 for the meat platter, meat and slaw sandwiches $18. Order at their counter, you get a number that they will call out when ready, you can ask for plastic cups if needed - either fill it up with tap water yourself just opposite the counter or use it to...
Read moreSaw Big Earl's from a distance and I was so intrigued by the displays of old memorabilia and the huge fire pit at the entrance that I had to stop in have a look. As I walked in I was greeted by the security guard/barman/tour guide who was so friendly and welcoming that I decided to stay for a drink. The explanation of the 16 hour slow roasted beef brisket was enough to sway me to order a sample. I ordered the beef brisket loaded fries as it was all I could handle at the time. OMG, do I wish I'd brought my hunger along. It was the most delicious, authentic BBQ beef brisket I've tasted. It just fell apart and melted in my mouth. The live music, the eclectic prints and memorabilia, the large fire pit and other small fires scattered around the yard and the laid back friendly atmosphere had me wanting more. Unfortunately as I had an hour and a half drive home I had to leave it at that on this occasion. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a laid back, family friendly lunch or dinner out. I loved every minute being there and will definetely be back. If I could give these guys 6...
