Bonbons Bakery Box Hill — Restaurant in Melbourne

We’re excited to share what we tried from BonBons bakery in Box Hill! They have sooo many pastries to choose from and these were the ones we got:

🥐 Blueberry Custard Danish The custard was very creamy, sweet and soft, great contrast to the crunchy pastry

☕️ Coffee Pan We could smell the coffee and it was soft & buttery as expected

🍵 Matcha Bun The bun was so fluffy and the matcha cream had a nice texture. We loved the touch of candy on top too

🥐 Almond Croissant Can’t go wrong with a classic! Would be perfect to dunk in a cup of coffee

🧋 Boba Swiss Roll (New Flavor ‼️) This roll was soo good! It’s about time we have brown sugar pearls inside of something that’s not tea 😋 The roll was squishy, the cream in between perfectly coated the layer and the chewiness of pearls was a nice contrast

🍰 Lychee Obsession This cake was perfect for me as I am obsessed with lychee-flavored stuff! Not only it looked so pretty, but the sweetness level was perfect and the cake had a melt-in-your-mouth feel to it. Definitely a contender for my bday cake this year hehe 🙊

Everything was so yum and so cute! We wished it’s nearby to us so we can try one pastry every day and we’ll end up trying the whole store 😂 Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a quick breakkie...

The Bon Bons in Box Hill also has exceptional service out of all the Bon Bons I've been to. The staff are always consistently super kind and friendly. One time I came early when they were still baking some items and I was going out for a trip using the train so I wanted two bags of custard rolls. They weren't on the shelves yet though so I asked the staff and they went in the back to check for me, they then confirmed they had it, asked me to wait for a bit for them to package them up and made sure they brought me the right flavour. The buns were still hot as they had only just came out of the oven and the staff told me to be careful and take care so I didn't get burnt. Not only this time but every time before and after that I have such great experiences with the staff, plus all the baked goods are super yummy but their portuguese egg tart is...

The staffs were so grumpy - there was some sort of deals going on but I didn't really care. So I picked some breads and queued up to pay. It was the end of the day so the queue was long. The cashier sent me back to get other breads, saying it's not the combo deal. So I went to get another one, queued again then got told at the cashier that "still not the right deal". No one has the patience to explain what was the "deal" they are talking about, except kept repeating "we have the policy" (like I heard the word policy 5-6 times) . TBH, the policy was printed on a piece of A4paper, with both English and Chinese on it, so you can imagine how small it is. I had attempted to read it with no veil. Plus there are so many other customers - there is absolutely no chance to stand...
