This Deli hugs a busy intersection, opposite an office space. I walked in an afternoon. Here's what I experienced: Ambience: woody panels and tables with green creepers provide a tight but cost space. If you are the types that wanna hear your good getting cooked, you're in the right place. Large windows let's you wave to the cars stopping at the traffic signal. There's a neon just roll with it sign to trick you into thinking it's a cool hangout, nevermind wood tables. Some color please!! Food: the usual grab n go,grab n chomp, sip, slurp gulp items are on menu. Burgers salads wraps. I have ordered a spinach n cheese wrap. It was just warm enough for quick bites. Both ingredients tasted fresh inside the toaster wrap. I came back later to order a cappuccino. It was average tasting. I say because I'm a cappuccino connoisseur!! Service: the hosts were cordial. The waitress served water. She laid the plate and cutlery like in a high end restaurant. I'm impressed. Parking; hahaha your kidding! Overall Rubika is recommended stop over for quick bites. I hope they change the woody interior to something lighter n refreshing. I will go back just for the hospitality. Update: they are launching a Bar...
Read moreOnly really go here to tune into uni lectures during lunch. The service is inconsistent - there is one really lovely server, every one else tends to do things like charge you $2 more for a drink, until you correct them by pointing the right price on the menu.. there was one time a female server grabbed a half full pitcher of water from a table she was cleaning, grabbed a new glass, and slam it on my table (I had just sit down). Didn’t even bother to refill the pitcher until I asked.. oof. Drinks are mostly bottled drinks you can find from the IGA across the road with a 200-300% markup. Depending on the server, they will serve it in a glass with ice, otherwise you will have to request (or un-request) it. Onsite cooked food is mid, chips are McCains, soups are the instant/prepackaged kinds from the iga.. better options in the area. Unless you just want some food you can cook at home but sat in a cafe. Sandwiches are actually good but it’s hard to mess that up so we’re not giving kudos for that. I quite like the background music choices though, reminds me of my childhood haha
The place is neat,...

This morning I stumbled into Rubika after wandering the streets starving and looking for something comforting. What I found was more than just breakfast — it was a memory, a moment, and a hug from the universe.
I ordered a flat white and shakshuka, sat down with my journal, and soon Taylor Swift started playing loudly through the speakers — the very same album I used to play on repeat when I first started my career. Then came the shakshuka. It had beans in it, and the first bite transported me straight back to my childhood, when we used beans to thicken our stews and I’d save them for breakfast while watching cartoons.
In that instant, two parts of my life — my childhood and my early career — collided in the middle of a little café in a new city. It was nostalgic, emotional, and grounding. I actually cried over a bowl of shakshuka.
Rubika gave me more than a meal today. It gave me a reminder that even in a strange place, you can find something familiar, something that feels like home.
Thank you, Rubika, for turning an ordinary morning into something...
