As a sandwich enthusiast, I was intrigued by the unique offerings at Cafe Carlton, so I decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, I received outstanding service—definitely a perfect 10/10. I ordered two sandwiches and a bottle of water, which totaled $46. While the price is quite high for sandwiches, they were sizable, which somewhat justifies the cost. Looking at the menu online, I noticed the lamb royal was priced at $21 and the golden bird at $20, making the $5 charge for a bottle of water feel excessive, especially considering the same brand is available at the supermarket for about 20 cents when bought in a bundle.
I waited about 15 minutes for my food, which isn't too bad. However, I had seen posts on social media featuring chips with sandwiches, but mine didn't come with any, so I guess that wasn't a standard offering.
Regarding the food, I found the sauces used in both sandwiches to be quite good, particularly the garlic sauce. However, I felt the meat was lacking in flavor and didn't have that desirable charcoal look. My friend, who had half of the chicken sandwich, mentioned that the meat was tender and cooked well. I heard the owners previously worked at Kebab on Bell, which has a strong reputation for food, though I haven't been there myself.
On the positive side, the bread was quite nice, but despite its fluffiness, there was a lack of meat and flavor to balance it out. I appreciate supporting a local business, but I found myself with higher expectations than what was showcased on social media. Nevertheless, the staff provided excellent service, so props...
Read moreAsalamu alaykum, I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to share the beautiful experience I had today at Café Carlton. For me, nothing tops a good outing like genuine warmth and a welcoming atmosphere and that’s exactly what I found here. Elice babes, your customer service was absolutely exceptional. You truly went above and beyond, and it didn’t go unnoticed. From the moment I arrived, you were kind, patient, and full of light. Even when I had to run and grab some money, you trusted me with such grace and understanding. You checked in on me and my sister with the sweetest energy, and honestly, that kind of hospitality stays with a person. To the gentleman working alongside you thank you as well. It was a team effort, and it showed. The vibe of the café was so calm and inviting, it honestly felt like a little pocket of peace with a cozy touch of home. And can we talk about the food? The sujuk in the croissant was flavourful, fresh, and perfectly done. Thank you, Café Carlton, for creating such a lovely experience. I’ll definitely be back soon, in sha Allah. P.s thank you for the donuts...
Read moreI went to Cafe Carlton today after seeing many viral videos about their Cinnamon Scroll Matcha. I reached, and the atmosphere was very nice, and it was busy!
I tried finding the price of this matcha online, and there was no information. In person, there was signage in regards to the special edition matcha, but no information about the pricing again. After ordering, I see that the cost of a "large" matcha was $13.31 with surcharge (full cream milk).
I think if a drink is going to be priced extraordinarily high, there should be some signage regarding the price, so the customer does not feel awkward when they realise they do not want to pay so much for a drink.
Also, the matcha was not strong at all, it tasted like a weak chai latte, even though the matcha was...
