Absolutely appalling service and unprofessional management
I was potentially drugged and then robbed near the entrance of Longbeach Hotel, so I approached the venue manager, Cathy, for assistance in reviewing the security footage. My sole intention was to gather more information about the timing of the incident to help me piece together the facts before taking further action. Instead of offering help, Cathy responded in an extremely rude, dismissive, and obnoxious manner. She belittled my experience, showed zero empathy, and flat-out refused to assist.
Not only was she unprofessional, but Cathy also demonstrated a lack of basic competence. Rather than offer any assistance, she rattled off random, non-existent privacy laws with zero relevance or application to my situation as an excuse for avoiding any additional work or effort. It was clear that helping patrons in a meaningful way was not her priority.
This experience has left me feeling completely unsupported and disrespected. Owners and Higher Management at Longbeach Hotel should seriously reconsider how they treat patrons who are victims of crime. Cathyβs handling of the situation was not just unhelpful, but wholly...
Β Β Β Read moreIt's probably not fair to ask for an unbiased review of the hotel where your grandfather met your father to drink. Of course in the 60 years since, the Chelsea Pub has turned into Castello's. I previously had given a fairly decent review, but that was prior to the shabby night out we endured there last night. I definitely cannot recommend Castello's to anyone, for anything - if I do, it means I don't like you. If you manage to get them to turn down the music down in the sport's bar, congratulations. Who really needs that competing with footy/sports commentary? We did get the music off for the duration of a game and as soon as it ended, boof head security turn up and silence the aftermatch without a word to the people clearly watching it. Why not just say "Get out, we want to close early"? There was another issue involving a minor, who has been present in the sports bar for 5 years with us - suddenly it's too close to the pokies? There is a door between them, whereas there is no door between pokies and bistro - so, totally arbitrary decision made by stroppy personnel on the night. With footy season ending for 6 months, probably not a great decision to drive...

Mixed drinks $8 each at bar prices but they closed the bar before 10pm so we needed to use the Pokies bar venue. Now other food : Calamari $24 was generous on a bed of chips. all served with a typical weenie accompanying salad and chunky tomato with a sneeze of carrot and dressing. I mentioned the steak.... I will sell you my tasty blundstone boot for $30 before recommending the ribeye. My neighbour had this southern fried chicken special - crispy but dry as roadkill. I tried it, but my dentist said to avoid anything that crunchy .. It may have been a bad night but I expected better than this. There didn't seem any particular order of the meals coming out to when people ordered. The kitchen managed to serve 20+ of us all within 15 minutes of the first plate. The place was clean, staff were excellent, toilets were clean and the kids playroom a bonus. ( watch the door on little fingers ). Can't say I will be back as it was not busy, and the mediocre pub food was at a...
