Absolutely appalling service and unprofessional management

I was potentially drugged and then robbed near the entrance of Longbeach Hotel, so I approached the venue manager, Cathy, for assistance in reviewing the security footage. My sole intention was to gather more information about the timing of the incident to help me piece together the facts before taking further action. Instead of offering help, Cathy responded in an extremely rude, dismissive, and obnoxious manner. She belittled my experience, showed zero empathy, and flat-out refused to assist.

Not only was she unprofessional, but Cathy also demonstrated a lack of basic competence. Rather than offer any assistance, she rattled off random, non-existent privacy laws with zero relevance or application to my situation as an excuse for avoiding any additional work or effort. It was clear that helping patrons in a meaningful way was not her priority.

This experience has left me feeling completely unsupported and disrespected. Owners and Higher Management at Longbeach Hotel should seriously reconsider how they treat patrons who are victims of crime. Cathy’s handling of the situation was not just unhelpful, but wholly...

It's probably not fair to ask for an unbiased review of the hotel where your grandfather met your father to drink. Of course in the 60 years since, the Chelsea Pub has turned into Castello's. I previously had given a fairly decent review, but that was prior to the shabby night out we endured there last night. I definitely cannot recommend Castello's to anyone, for anything - if I do, it means I don't like you. If you manage to get them to turn down the music down in the sport's bar, congratulations. Who really needs that competing with footy/sports commentary? We did get the music off for the duration of a game and as soon as it ended, boof head security turn up and silence the aftermatch without a word to the people clearly watching it. Why not just say "Get out, we want to close early"? There was another issue involving a minor, who has been present in the sports bar for 5 years with us - suddenly it's too close to the pokies? There is a door between them, whereas there is no door between pokies and bistro - so, totally arbitrary decision made by stroppy personnel on the night. With footy season ending for 6 months, probably not a great decision to drive...

Friday night dining with a group. Okay pricy pub meals. $38 steak was perfectly cooked alas the steak would be better used for shoe leather. Mixed drinks $8 each at bar prices but they closed the bar before 10pm so we needed to use the Pokies bar venue. Now other food : Calamari $24 was generous on a bed of chips. all served with a typical weenie accompanying salad and chunky tomato with a sneeze of carrot and dressing. I mentioned the steak.... I will sell you my tasty blundstone boot for $30 before recommending the ribeye. My neighbour had this southern fried chicken special - crispy but dry as roadkill. I tried it, but my dentist said to avoid anything that crunchy .. It may have been a bad night but I expected better than this. There didn't seem any particular order of the meals coming out to when people ordered. The kitchen managed to serve 20+ of us all within 15 minutes of the first plate. The place was clean, staff were excellent, toilets were clean and the kids playroom a bonus. ( watch the door on little fingers ). Can't say I will be back as it was not busy, and the mediocre pub food was at a...

This pub/hotel is very nicely situated by the beach and inside it is quite spacious and nice. The staff however are quite rude. Today this bar/hotel was not busy at all. Yet the service was terrible. They charge you for items that you order from the menu and once they charge you tell you that they have run out of the items. Then to add further frustration, my friends and I had to wait over 27 minutes on one single easy cocktail which I had to walk over to the bar and ask again for where the hell it is. At this point, all three staff members working behind the bar were so rude and dismissed my questions and were so rude they didn't even apologize at all. To top this off, the final cocktail product I got was not finished off correctly and they did not even clean up the overflowing mess of the cocktail. Very very disappointed with this place and service. If they treat customers like this when the place is relatively empty, I can't even imagine how poor the service is when this place gets busy.

The dozen times we've been here the food ranged from okay to outstanding. The pizza, Barramundi fillet, all outstanding the first time. Subsequent times, the pizza has been quite ordinary compared with that very first time we tried a pizza when it was incredible, and the Barramundi fillet has halved in size over time. Quite disappointing. They may be trying to cut costs with supplies and now hiring cheaper chefs? It's rare to find roast vegetables with the layered oil treatment on them. These are still good. The very first time: the crumbed Barramundi was divine. The very first time: the medium thickness crust pizza (pictured), the Truffle Melanzane, was so well conceived and made it was heaven to eat. Thank you chefs. The Napoli sauce they use for the pasta's was also excellent. Most staff are very friendly. Located close to the beach. Top level Ambience and room design. The well regulated cooling provides a welcome break from the heat outside.

The atmosphere was lovely, gorgeous lighting and I loved watching the fish tank. Lots of space, very pretty view from the windows and friendly staff. Attentive, seemed to get along well. I got the arancini and the lime pepper squid, both were fantastic. The lime sauce served with the squid was fantastic. The magherita pizza was fantastic too, thin crisp base and flavourful toppings. The crust was chewy and crisp on the outside, a delightful experience. Drinks were also fantastic, I got the lemon lime bitters and my partner got the apple juice. Only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of dessert menu, I have a sweet tooth.
