KFC is Korean Fried Chicken ....... just so much better than the Colonel's ones.

Yes, Korea (South Korea) is pretty much influenced by the USoA; a US military base, political influence, K-Pop and of course their "modern" fried chicken - Korean marinade and sauces, American's "deep-fried", even Kimchi chips.

Located across from Queen Victoria Market, very small, nothing much from the outside nor inside, more like a very humble take away shop with some tables to dine-in. Modestly set up; self painted and furnished with what seems to be home-made stuff, nothing wrong with that, genuine.

What's amazing about this place is their fried chicken; multi flavoured wings and drumettes, those are the stars in the house, although other Korean dishes are available, like Japchae, Bibimbap, etc.

Fried chickens are rustically presented, on a wooden paddle with a layer of baking paper, Soy Garlic is a stand out, we shall try other flavours next time, honey mustard.

No toilet, water paper cup, no alcohol, licence is in the process but we don't care, as long as those chickens are good and remember to BYO wet towels or just grab some from your local KFC's.

A definite finger lickin...

Ever since they closed down their store in Glen Waverley, Ive been craving to go back and have their wings!! Their Korean fried chicken is the best ones I've had, they fry it fresh and it's juicy inside, yet so flavourful and crunchy on the outside. Their batter isn't overwhelming like other stores, but it's light yet still keeps the crisp on the chicken.

The lady who works there is super kind, seems like she's the only one in the store but she's very kind! Works super hard at the front of the store and also in the kitchen alone.

She said that they might be reopening next year in Glen Waverley! It was such a nostalgic store where I would go after tuition with my friends back when I was high school. Cant wait for them to open up again back in Glen Waverley!

If you have a chance, pop into their store to support this independent...

The BEST CHICKEN WINGS in Melbourne guys !!! My friend suggested me Chickilia few days ago and I decided to give it a try. It’s a cozy and welcoming restaurant to be honest. The owner was super friendly and nice to me. Waiting time is a bit long but I promise, it will absolutely worth the time. I ordered 20 pcs of chicken wings, 1 kimchi pork belly soup (included the rice) for take away. The aroma from chicken wings was seriously divine, along with the garlicky flavour. But what actually amazed me the most was the crunchiness of it. The chicken wings still crunchy after an hour (cause I had to grab some stuff from supermarket). If you haven’t tried Chickilia, please do and...

I learned about this place by complete accident back in 2020 because of an incorrect food delivery. It was the best "mistake" to ever happen. This is now my go to place for korean fried chicken and I crave it every week. Their wings are to die for, I always get soy garlic and sweet chilli half&half. The soy garlic flavour is so good and I haven't found anywhere else that can beat this place. The kimchi fries, pork kimchi stew and tteokbokki are also great! The store is cosy with a great homey atmosphere and the owners are extremely adorable and kind. Do support them!

First time having Chickilia via Ubereats. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience, the value wasn't there either. Paid $17 for half a chicken only to receive a disappointing portion. The chicken pieces were small, dry and tough, sauce was also at a minimal. I wouldn't recommend getting this meal option. We also had the Beef Bulgogi, very average. The menu on Ubereats didn't mention that it came with rice, but it does. The size is like a regular from Hachi. Hopefully the next person to order delivery from here won't be as disappointed.
