WORST SERVICE….
We went for dinner with my family on 31st Dec New Year Eve around 8:00 pm to 8:15 pm to Chilli India Docklands and it was such worst disappointment and frustrating experience I ever had in any of the restaurants in Melbourne.
We have been asked wait for 10 minutes for getting a table, after few minutes they said there are no tables available and not sure when the table will be free. They said entire tables inside the restaurant are reserved and I have been given corner table outside the restaurant TABLE #26. However, I can see people & family who came after us are getting the table, I am not sure if everyone made the reservation, except us. This is unbelievable. Still I was convinced to sit outside; my family was feeling bit cold and they were not comfortable.
We got menu card and started ordering the food, then started worst service…
I placed the food order 1) Chicken Manchurian, 2) Chicken biryani, 3) Goat biryani, 4) Two piece of garlic Naan and 5) Chicken tikka gravy.
Food was served on our table on installments, I have never seen like this in any of the restaurant neither in Melbourne nor overseas.
Even plates, cutlery, glass & water bottle came on our table on installment, which too I have asked them to bring.
After a long wait Chicken Manchurian came (ONLY this dish), we were so hungry & ate it in on-time. After 15-20 minutes Goat biryani came (ONLY this dish) after sometime, another person was keep on asking all tables who ordered Chicken biryani, I have to raise my hand to call the person and said that’s our table food. We four, shared 2 biryani’s since Naan was not been served. After 10-15 minutes Naan came to our table. Every time some other person was bringing the food with no idea who ordered it. Having so much to delays, I specifically asked the person who brought the last food, that can we order extra 3 Naan’s now and he said YES. I have placed the ordered for 3 Naan’s. Unfortunately I assumed they will not delay, however Naan’s which never came to our table.
Even on courtesy, no one came to our table to check if we need anything. There was nothing to eat our plate. After a long time someone came and asked what are we waiting for and I reiterated 3 pieces of Naan order is pending for more than 40 minutes. That person went inside the restaurant and got vanished.
People who came after us had their dinner and started returning. That’s the limit of my patience and I went inside the restaurant around 9:45 pm and ask what’s happening, no one has any clue and I got a response “has the Naan’s not been served”, such an irritating response I got. At first instance why should I even ask them if food was served to our table, can’t they have common sense? Then again they checked the system and said its “Running order”, I am not sure what that means and I don’t believe I should know it since that was none of my business. Out of frustration I cancelled the order and they asked me to pay the bill at cash counter.
I have said my frustration to the person over the cash counter and that gentlemen offer free food whatever we ate, I don’t know what kind of response was that and not sure how do I looked for him, does you guys doing any charity to me?
What a service on the New Year eve, staffs have no idea of what food, who order, whether was been served. If you people does not have capacity or enough staff to manage, then you should not take the orders and politely tell the customer you are fully booked. Don’t make them fool. This is disgusting.
For this kind of service and food I have paid $94.78 and forced to walk out of the restaurant having my family half stomach. Such a waste of money and my valuable time I have spent in your restaurant, I will never ever come to your...
Read moreBeen here a few times. First time food was actually excellent, the chickpea the right spice beautiful, so returned but the 2nd time fire hot..anyway i dont like very spicy foods. Thats could be specific to me. The roti was amazing though.
Now both times, they gave me a small container for curry, look i hate plastic so it’s a bit of a contradictory complaint, hate filling the world with them but have no choice with take away, and its because i think they were being stingy i mention it. They give you 2 small containers for the 2 curries & the 3rd choice is poured over the rice that drenches it & your rice tastes terrible by the time you open your take away. Cant taste the rice at all. Hate for more plastic to fill the planet but surely they can find another way, know other places that use a single tray that fits everything separately? Some actually use paper containers…
The reason i concluded it was stinginess, well the first time the guy daid yes i can have x instead of y but didn’t tell me it’ll cost more, the last time i went there, asked for a meal, he’s like “this is closed” im assuming their kitchen? I dont know lol cause the curries were right there available…he was like you have to choose from dinner menu, i had a look & it was more expensive so i was like nevermind & was going to leave, he changed his mind & was like oh we can do the other way🙄which was the cheaper one…
I just wont return to this restaurant cause disappointing, but came to nag here cause i find it really sad, clearly everything in the world has become about money. Why over a little bit of food we have to treat each other like this, just tell someone something will cost them more or not make up some “rule” that at 2pm they can only chiose from more expensive dinner menu, i get it some restaurants are strict but the lunch menu was in front of my face the curry was readily available to serve! I could see the food lol as for the small containers, surely it doesn’t cost that much to pour more, how much does a little piece more of chicken cost or vegetables? The amount of curry was so little, half of the plain rice is still left, i kept it to make my own curry today to satisfy with. So i guess they want you to buy more or upgrade to large size (if they have it?) i dont know, this world is disappointing is all i know… :/
If i had a restaurant, id be overfilling peoples plates for this price & give them value for their money. Sadly i wont be returning, after about 3 visits, the restaurant atmosphere looks nice but in my opinion the food quality is average for the...
