Extremely disappointing dining experience with FOOD POISONING

I had dinner here today, and it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered four dishes, spending around AUD 150, yet not a single one was even remotely acceptable.

When I came in, I saw the seafood displayed in the ice cabinet already looked unfresh—fish eyes were sunken and cloudy, looks like they had been stored for quite some time. So I didn't order any fish, expecting that maybe other seafood would be better. However, what I experienced later is more than just disappointing.

The Natural oysters taste very weird, clearly having been opened and left out for hours. The Kilpatrick oysters were dreadful—drowned in what tasted like Heinz BBQ sauce, likely used to mask the lack of freshness. Paying AUD 5 per Kilpatrick oyster for that quality was unacceptable. I believe having these unfresh oysters is the reason why I had diarrhea 2 hours after dinner.

Moreover, I'm quite curious: just within 50 meters of this restaurant, there's a shop selling fresh handmade pasta. So why did I end up with a dish that was made from a two-dollar pack of factory-produced supermarket pasta—utterly terrible, poorly seasoned, and lacking even enough salt?

What's worse, the entire pasta dish was filled with crushed clam shells. I understand that clam pasta might occasionally have some shell fragments, but your chef clearly stir-fried the clams and pasta together, shattering the shells completely and making the entire dish literally inedible.

Also, the food was burnt. The grilled calamari—priced at AUD 45—was a tiny portion, maybe less than 250g, smaller than my palm, and severely charred. It tasted bitter, like eating a piece of charcoal.

About two hours after the meal, I started feeling very unwell and developed severe diarrhea and stomach pain. My doctor later diagnosed me with ACUTE GASTROENTERITIS, which is consistent with foodborne illness. That night, I experienced repeated bouts of diarrhea until 4 a.m. It was so severe that when I weighed myself this morning, I found I had lost two kilograms.

I have also reported this incident to the local council and the Department of Health for investigation, as required by public health...

Service was poor and staff were inconsiderate. | We just ordered our food when a couple was seated next to us with their cutest dog. I awkwardly asked if we could move because one of my child (8yrs) is allergic to animals which exacerbate asthma (which makes her sad because she loves them). I asked maybe if we could be moved away to keep some distance. We got seated at a high table with tall wobbly bar stools unsuitable for young kids. They said there were no other seats. I was causing inconvenience to them, so I accept. I tell the kids to be careful, I stand/sit behind my youngest because if the kid wiggles a lot, it will be a nasty fall. However, other people come and they start pulling out extra fold out tables and chairs (more suitable for kids and elderly) and make space for them. This upset me. To top it all off, the food was average, and a long wait for anything you ask for. For example, when asked for water, the male server took asking twice and 10 minutes to bring a bottle but saw no problem about us not having glasses. We wait another 5 minutes to hunt down someone to ask for glasses. He forgot to order a dish for us eventhough we talked about the dish because he was explaining what kind of fish it was, etc… We wait patiently the whole time he ignores us unless I’m waving someone down. This last dish never came and no one came back to help so eventually it was time to leave. I go to pay and question an item that says “open table??” , ask him why he didn’t bring our fish and can he please not charge us for it. He saw it fit to rudely say, you weren’t charged for it, as if he thinks (so what’s the problem?). No apology or taking of ownership whatsoever, sorry I forgot , sorry we were so busy, nothing. I will not be going back there. Even the kids saw how much I was struggling and asked if we could please go to the restaurant next...

16 April 2019 Today is my last day in Melbourne and I wanna make sure I'm having something that is not too heavy and not able to find in Bangkok.

I have suggested to my friends that we should come here for dinner. They all thought that I wanna eat rice served in a claypot. Hahaha They were quite surprised to find out that its is a seafood restaurant.

There are 3 of us and we ordered like it's our last meal. Well at least this in my last meal in Melbourne for April.

We ordered grilled abalone, grilled scampi, grilled scallops l, stingray, chilli crab with mussels, and spaghetti marinara. Later on we ordered breads to dip into the chilli sauce.

OMG. The seafood is so fresh. They are seriously the King of Seafood. They cooked all the seafood into perfection. The scampi is so sweet. All the dishes are delicious.

I will definitely come back here again in my next visit. I can't get enough of the seafood.

The waitress is very friendly and the settings are great. Tonight is the perfect night to be sitting outside for a meal. 😆

Aug 2018

The place is very romantically setup at dinner time. The setup tables and chairs on the hallway. The table is very low, it would be much comfortable if it's higher. I almost feel like I'm sitting on the floor.

The seafood is out of this world. It's so delicious and fresh. We ordered prawns, scallops, abalone, flathead, green beans and Greek salad. We enjoyed every dishes. My favourite dish is the abalone. It cooked to perfection. They do know how to cook abalone better than the Chinese restaurant. Overcooked abalone is like eating rubber.

Staff is very knowledgeable...

Today, after completing my grocery shopping, I decided to enjoy a late lunch at the restaurant. During the meal, I ordered two glasses of white wine to complement my dining experience. However, upon concluding my meal and preparing to pay the bill, I encountered an issue with my phone battery, which had drained unexpectedly. In an attempt to resolve the issue, I politely asked your staff if I could briefly use an outlet to charge my phone. Instead of providing assistance, I was met with dismissive and rude behavior from two female staff members, one of whom exhibited particularly disrespectful conduct with remarks about her lack of time to assist me, despite eventually begrudgingly offering help. This encounter left me feeling insulted and disrespected. It seemed as though I was being unfairly judged and accused of intentionally causing inconvenience, despite being a valued customer who had just spent over $300 on groceries. The attitude displayed by the staff was completely unacceptable and tarnished what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. Although I was eventually able to charge my phone enough to pay the bill, the overall experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I left the restaurant feeling deeply disappointed and disheartened, with the food I had just consumed sitting heavily in my stomach.
