Dumpling Plus - Highpoint Level 2 — Restaurant in Melbourne

$99 for a honey chicken, black bean beef, 2 small steamed rice, some dumplings, small coke. There was bird poo everywhere - huge amount of old gross looking bird poo in the lanterns hanging above the tables, bird poo on the table and chairs. Tables weren’t clean. There was stink wafting from the bins the servers had in the dining area that they were dumping previous customers food in. Old food all over the floor.

Servers were less than polite.

Suddenly came down with conjunctivitis and a lung infection after dining here (it’s the only place I’ve eaten out at in a long time).

The pork ribs noodle was just okay. I liked that there were a few noodle options to choose from, but the broth lacked depth and richness, and the pork ribs were mostly bone with very little meat.

The fried rice with crab meat was also average — nothing stood out, and it was hard to even tell there was crab meat in it.

Surprisingly, the Peking duck was the highlight. It was full of flavour and definitely the best dish of the meal 👍

Overall, it’s a standard Chinese restaurant with average service...

My son asked for forks and they gave him metal forks and then the owner realised that we had taken away our food. He then approached us and asked us to bring back the forks when we were done and everything else could get thrown away as it was plastic. He then told all of his workers that we had metal forks and then he proceeded to watch us while we eat. I got frustrated and took the forks back and got wooden ones for my kids to eat with.
