I came in to the store after waiting for the service of my Iphone to finish at the Apple store just ahead of it. I wandered in just browsing without the intention of buying anything, let alone sitting in and drinking a hot chocolate. Out of curiosity for a new sweets experience, along with the boredom of waiting for my Iphone, I ordered the classic Belgium hot chocolate, and was assisted by Mim (I apologise for incorrect spelling if I did so) who was cheerful, enthusiastic, and very eager to help. As someone who often tries new foods and sweets, I asked her for her recommendation, and thus ordered three chocolates including the classic salted milk chocolate, a geometric shaped chocolate filled with mango and orange flavouring, and a dark chocolate one with a tiny bit of alcohol in it.

When first seated, I appreciated that despite having a relatively small sized store, there was more than enough room to be seated and enjoy relative comfort. The area was slightly secluded due to the shelves containing chocolate covering the dine in area, and I appreciated the nice and quiet atmosphere that was accompanied by the music in the background. The wait for the hot chocolate was not too long, and I was given a glass of water immediately which I appreciated. The hot chocolate came in a pretty big sized cup, which allowed me to appreciate its taste, but also enjoy the different chocolates along with it. The Belgium classic hot chocolate had a nice design on top of it, wasn't too hot, nor was it too sweet or under-sweetened. I appreciated the effort that went in to the cup, and was rewarded with a smooth, and pleasent hot chocolate. I sampled the chocolates by first biting them in half and appreciating their taste, before enjoying the other half accompanied by the hot chocolate.

Mim was more than happy enough to satisfy my conversations about the chocolates, and told me her favourites, alongside further recommendations if I wanted to indulge in more. She also brought out free samples including chocolate wasabi pees and the fathers day white chocolate which I enjoyed. Although I personally would not buy the pees, I welcomed a new and interesting flavour combination. The father's day white chocolate was enjoyable to eat, however I personally prefer dark or normal chocolate as I like the darker flavour tones of cocoa more than light, sweet and creamy tones of white chocolate.

After finishing my order, Mim immediately noticed and took the empty cup and plate away, and I thanked her for her friendly and cheerful service. For around $15.00, I enjoyed the experience and left satisfied with my order. I will not comment on the actual price itself, as I am not educated on the comparative prices in similar stores. I recommend bringing a friend and enjoying a satisfying cup of hot chocolate, along with the delightful chocolates they have. A final thank you to Mim who made my experience much more...

I have visited several times before and was impressed with service and quality of the coffee. It's hard to find a decent cup of coffee in Highpoint. Koko Black is more expensive but the quality is normally pretty good. I was very disappointed today all new staff again and the drinks were all pretty average. I has two coffees to see if the first was a one off. Unfortunately it wasn't the so called large coffee was cold and mainly froth and nothing else. I would be surprised it there was more than 200ml of coffee and they were supposed to be large. My wife said her coffee tasted pretty ordinary and my grandson had a child's hot chocolate made in a thimble at a $6 price tag. All in all today's visit was underwhelming and I probably won't bother heading back...

Understaffed with no communication on the additional wait time for take away coffee. one person on drinks in back of house with a full venue and only one person on retail, 2 in cafe area waiting tables and all are moving at a slow pace. Have been waiting 20minutes for a takeaway with no single employee checking in on me to advise about the delay in wait time. Management, the casual weekend staff need a bit more experience in communication. Will know in future to only come during the week, if that. Drink came out luke warm and when I kindly advised the retail attendant there was a delay and it’s not her fault but suggested she kindly advise patrons on the delay she was very dismissive and abrupt. Service midweek is consistently more capable, professional...

I only came to buy the YOTD gift box, and decided to stay for a drink. I chose the orange hot chocolate and 3 chocolate combo. It was a pleasant experience with a current staff member, and the wait for my hot chocolate was not too long. I was feeling so relaxed that I even thought the toddler baby sounds from a nearby table were cute, which may have normally made me want to put on earphones or leave. I chose well with the chocolates except the Macadamia and Wattleseed was too oily and rich for me. If they showcase more native Australian grown ingredients like they used to in their chocolates and hot chocolates, I'd give another star.

We love coming back to Koko Black at Highpoint for afternoon snacks. Their iced chocolate and salted caramel are so yummy. The staff is always accommodating with us having a baby and a pram. I always get asked if I need to reheat my baby bottle or if they can help with anything. This place is pram friendly, and it’s not too noisy whenever we would visit either from lunch or the afternoon - school holidays, weekends, during the week. Their dessert range is so delicious. Customer service 10/10

Hot chocolate was still delicious, but we found a problem with the employee's attitude. Even though they were not busy, they couldn't handle it properly as they did not get used to the work. Then I though they had to help each other and solve it. As if it wasn't their jobs, the workers worked like a private business and other customers and I couldn't receive proper service.
