Appalling service at Highpoint. Ordered iced chai (amongst other orders for four). It arrived in a very narrow parfait glass full to top with ice so essentially only room for 3-4 mouthfuls of the actual chai liquid. Took me 20 seconds to drink it all from straw. For over $6. Gave them feedback and they couldn’t understand English. Asked for manager. A Lady came out and said I shouldn’t have drunk it and should have asked for no ice and asked me if I wanted to buy another without ice! How would I know it was all ice until I start drinking it? Took three of us to try to explain that if I’d know it would come out like that I wouldn’t have ordered it. It was ridiculous. Eventually she said she’d do another without ice for me. Not only did the second one come with ice, (not as much I admit), but I discovered when I went to drink it that it was not even an iced chai but an iced coffee. I can’t drink coffee. Absolutely Useless and they could not have cared less. Far too many better choices for any of us to bother ever going back again. Don’t order the Iced Chai or Iced...
Read moreThis review is based on the perspective of a retail customer rather than food and beverage customer. The service at Jasper Highpoint is consistently the absolute pits. We buy whole beans and occasionally want to ask questions about the origin, style or select beans that are not prepacked from behind the counter. Talk about asking for too much. Usually service is from flat, bland, "too busy" people more interested in $5 take away coffee orders than $75 whole coffee bean orders, but today was next level rudeness that prompted a review. The store clearly benefits from its location in the centre, because it has absolutely nothing else going for it. Not to mention, that if, as full time M-F workers, we make the mistake of buying our beans on a Sunday when most convenient, we get hit with a 10-15% service charge, for zero % customer service. Do yourself a favour and buy your beans elsewhere. Your self respect will thank you for it, given the utter garbage disrespect served up by this store time...
Read moreStaff: 1/10 (They have a severe lack of respect for customers, they seemed to be rushing to take orders, they talk down to the customers as though they are better than them.)
Food: 1/10 (I ordered a brownie which was served for no obvious reason with an orange slice and a strawberry. The brownie itself was dry and tasted stale, so, I left most of it. Perhaps that was why they put the fruit on the plate, in order to distract me from the foul taste.)
Drinks: 3/10 (The English breakfast tea was okay at best, however, it tasted weak as if they’d not put enough tea leaves into the pot.)
I understand that it was Black Friday and the shopping centre was very busy, but, other cafes that I have visited at shopping centres on other busy periods have always kept up a great level of customer service and never served me stale food.
This was my first time at this café and I’ll never be...
