Grandma‘s Dumpling City — Restaurant in Melbourne

We had been very much looking forward to eating here but were stunned at how incredibly rude the girl in charge was. Insisting we move tables when there was only 2 other people in the place - because she would have to "clean it up". Food very disappointing with only one item ordered actually being nice - the green beans. Duck insanely dry - almost desiccated. Dumplings actually hard and round like golf balls? Tasted like fish but were supposed to be pork. Once the other two people left the the girl in charge obviously decided it was time for us to go (9pm friday night) - even though our 6th plate had only just arrived a good 20 minutes after the rest. She proceeded to bang tables chairs and outdoor furniture as loud as she could all around our table. Throwing it all to rest just next to us. And best of all we are expected to be happy about paying for this woman to bully us all through our meal. Even when I confronted her as I was reluctantly paying, she could not bring herself to admit that she was rude. If you like rock hard dumplings and paying people to be rude to you then this is the place for you. A huge thumbs down and so disappointed that it wasn't the enjoyable dinner out that we were all looking for but had to pay...

Awful customer service!! Just went there for lunch, the pork dumpling they served is half RAW!!! Yes, Still PINK!!! and its taste raw, like chewing a rubber!!. :( I did swallowed one of them. Then i return the dish to cashier, there is a girl with black top telling me: becoz we use pork dice instead of pork mince, whats why is pink, if you think this is raw, why dont you tell us at beginning, now you have eaten few of them, we cant resell anymore. i can only give you half price! Excuse me!! Eating raw pork can lead to so many human disease! I am an Asian, i am eating pork everyday in my last 30 years, i know that is the difference between cooked pork and raw pork. When you chewing a pork like chewing a rubber, and still pink. you know that is RAW!!! And!! what do you mean, you cant resell anymore? So, this shop will resell the food from customer return??? That is SICK Look, I give this 1 star review, only becoz there are no 'no star' option. I give this review its not because they served the raw pork, everyone make mistake. BUT!! it is because of the wrong customer service. There was No apologies at all, but only argue with the customer, and trying to charge for money for their own...

We tried their pork & prawn dumplings, chicken & prawn dumplings, both pan fried and steamed versions and they were all absolutely delicious. Found their duck fried rice quite salty, and their chicken & prawn dumplings in sesame butter sauce was ok. Would definitely NOT recommend their pan fried king prawn dumplings, it looks big and only comes in 6pcs per serve giving you the illusion that there's loads of prawns, but it's more green veggies and padding around the 1 prawn inside, definitely not to our taste either. Overall still enjoyed the main dumplings and keen to try their other dishes in our next order. Also we ordered 2 pan fried chicken/prawn and 1 steamed but they gave us 2 steamed instead and 1 pan fried, which wouldn't have mattered as much if there wasn't a price difference.
