Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious meals. The Coopers Inn, located in Melbourne, Australia, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1854, making it one of Melbourne's oldest pubs. It was named after the cooper trade, which involved making barrels and casks, a nod to the area's early industry.

Situated in the heart of Melbourne's central business district on Exhibition Street, the inn's location has always made it a popular spot for locals and visitors. The building itself has retained much of its historical charm, with its classic pub architecture and interior design reflecting its long history.

Over the years, the Coopers Inn has seen various owners and undergone several renovations to modernize its facilities while preserving its historical character. These updates have helped maintain its status as a beloved institution in Melbourne.

Throughout its history, the Coopers Inn has been a gathering place for a diverse clientele, including workers, businesspeople, and tourists. It has also hosted numerous events, from local community gatherings to live music performances, contributing to Melbourne's vibrant social scene.

Today, the Coopers Inn continues to operate as a popular pub, offering a range of food and beverages, including traditional pub fare and a selection of beers. Its historical ambiance combined with modern amenities makes it a unique destination in Melbourne.

The Coopers Inn's long-standing presence and historical significance reflect the broader history of Melbourne's development and the enduring appeal of its...

3 storey pub. Drinks on the first, dining on the second and stand-up comedy on the third. When you enter, go straight to the bar to tell them what you need. No one will help you if you just stand at the doors. We were there for dinner and standup comedy, so we were shown to a table on the second floor. Prices are reasonable, food was average. It didn’t quite live up to the reviews online. Food Menu isn’t huge but drinks are ok

Chicken parmi - huge portion, comes with salad and fries. Tasted nice but chicken was a bit tough Lamb souvlaki - tasted really nice but all the lamb was super super crispy. It was like eating the lamb version of potato chips. I’ve had lamb souvlaki in a Greek restaurant before and it certainly wasn’t like that. It was nice but weird Bangers and mash - the only dish that was the way it should be. You can’t go wrong with sausages and mash potatoes.

Absolutely loved the comedy club. Paid $55 for 4 tickets on a...

If you are planning to have a meal here, stop! The food is appalling!!

We visited for lunch on Sunday, 13th April, and we each ordered the chicken club sandwich, steak sandwich, and chicken schnitzel. Both sandwiches were served with burned bread (and I mean black), and the chicken and steak were both inedible. The meat had the appearance and texture of having been previously cooked and then reheated in an oven or similar. I literally mean it was inedible - stringy, chewy and hard. The chips also had the appearance of being pre-cooked and reheated - that semi-shrivelled look that they get about them. The schnitzel was dried out, too. The low quality beggared belief.

P.S. there was a table of approximately ten people seated behind us whose reaction to their food was that of equal astonishment at such poor quality.

Do not contemplate...
