Was really keen for this one, and think it would be okay if you don't get the "feed me" option. This included the vegan grazing board, greens, tomato carpaccio, tofu larb, and linguine. The food was okay but nothing blew us out of the water - especially when the first two courses were essentially just raw vegetables. The only dish with any real carbs was the linguine - all in all, we left feeling rather hungry. I also think the seasonal menu is not so seasonal - the tomatoes in the carpaccio were bland as it's now a bit late in the year to expect much flavour. No other dishes really celebrated the produce currently in season, which really is such a shame for a vegetarian restaurant. The grazing board was essentially hummus, vegetables, and a rather pitiful amount of bread - a real missed opportunity to showcase produce here.
Between the two of us at $50/pp the total amount value was about $51/pp - usually feed me menus are intended to be better value than ordering straight from the menu, so only a dollar of "extra" value surprised me.
The service was also just OK - at times we were sent our next course before we had finished the other. Later, we were sent the small plate of seasonal greens as an entire course rather than an accompaniment. We also didn't have anyone check in to see how our food was and often found ourselves out of water - the staff did seem nice enough, perhaps just spread too thin.
I had booked this place as a surprise night out for my partner so it really was a shame it didn't hold up. We are vegetarian and would love to have a good option for a night out, unfortunately this just missed the mark. Hopefully this review helps others thinking of doing the feed me menu - I think there are talented chefs here, the menu just needs a re-boot, and hopefully ordering differently will still make sure you have...

One dish I couldn't resist was the fried cauliflower—it was simply outstanding, leaving me craving more. While the open windows let in a bit of city traffic fumes, the excellence of the food and service far outweighed this minor inconvenience.

Read moreWalked in today for a booking and was approached by the server who seated us quickly and was quick to get us a drinks. He was also friendly when taking our order. Unfortunately that's the only good things left to say. The server approached the Chef with our order and the behaviour from the chef was absolutely abhorrent. We could hear from our table the chef speaking horribly about us to the server. If you don't want people to make alterations to the menu say it upfront. Even saying that statement is funny because it's written all over the menu and website that they can cater for all food requirements. I don't like pickle and BBQ sauce so I asked for it to be removed. The server even made suggestions about adding other things to the order. A simple request and the behaviour was completely unwarranted.
We got up and left after this display and on the way out the server knew exactly why before we even had a chance to tell him. So I imagine it's not the first time the chef has been this unprofessional.
All in all it was a terrible experience and I'll be quick to tell anyone that the place sucks and I wouldn't bother.
The only good thing to come from a ruined birthday experience was driving 5 minutes down the road to Red Sparrow who had exceptional service, incredible food and an overall fabulous restaurant. To anyone reading this, If you're looking for somewhere awesome to eat, I'd recommend giving this place a miss and head down the road to Red Sparrow where they don't treat people like absolute...
