All the food was delicious, the service was friendly and being able to quickly and easily book a table online (rather than making a phone call) was brilliant. Staff quickly accomodated our Miss 5, providing her with a character plate and child-friendly chopsticks. Great first impression. Read moreHachi Kichi is my new go-to Japanese restaurant in Brighton, after being a weekly customer of another restaurant across the road for the past 15 years, which sadly it closed down in early 2025.
Hachi Kichi produces very good food; the sushi and sashimi always seem to be very fresh, and on the whole good value for money. Their servings may not be as big as I am used to, but they are well priced and because they have an extensive menu we can order a greater variety of dishes, which we really like.
I haven't eaten in yet - only had take away, so I can't comment on the atmosphere.
PS. The takeaway food is always ready when they say it will be! But beware, they close...
Read moreI would strongly recommend people don’t buy from this restaurant. Their photos are misleading and you don’t receive anything close to what you believe you are ordering. The below photo is the Salmon main taken next to a toothpick to emphasise just how disgraceful it was. It was ordered as the dinner for my 6ft tall adult son. I also ordered the omelette for my vegetarian adult daughter’s dinner. It was the size of 2 postage stamps. Literally 4cm x 5cm and had so much sugar in it that it was fed to our dogs with the rest...
