Booked for 5 on a Saturday evening around 7:15. I booked 2 or so weeks before and I had specified my grandmother was coming with a walker. Someone called me 2 days before the reservation on a private number. I’m glad they did - as they noted we were originally in the upstairs area. They moved us to the lower level courtyard instead. I really appreciated this. Where we were seated had an adequate seating arrangement, some heaters, a tv on the wall, and some nice ambient low lighting which would be perfect if you don’t have any eyesight issues! My family are unfortunately not in that boat and ended up utilising our phone flashlights to see the menu better. 😅 It’s very romantic lighting though and would be beautiful if you were on a date. Music was a little bit loud but could still hear one another talk. I ordered the Matcha Made in Heaven cocktail and wow. I could drink 50 of them. Very refreshing! They didn’t have a Mojito which is the usual order but the Matcha Made in Heaven was the closest thing and tasted even better. Lots of great drink options on their menu - beers, wines, cocktails and mocktails. Of the food, we had several smaller tapa-size like meals - they charge per plate when it comes to the bites and smaller plates - we had scallops, and croquettes, and the more shareable ones were the duck liver with parfait, king fish sashimi, and vegetable dumplings. Of larger meals we had the half chicken with carrot puree and the market fish which was Barramundi on the night (both aren’t listed on the menu online yet so apologies! I can’t remember the names). All the flavours were fantastic - well seasoned. The only meal I didn’t really like was the king fish sashimi - it was drowned in a sauce that was a salty but it wasn’t bad. There are only 2 desserts so we had one each - the toffee sticky pudding was the best one. The chocolate torte wasn’t what I was expecting as it tasted more like a brownie - but it still tasted great (also not yet on the online menu). Table service was fantastic and staff were super accommodating and kind. I’d probably come back with one of my girlfriends or my partner as it felt more of a space for an intimate catch up than a big group thing.

An unforgettable food experience It was my first time trying Mr & Mrs P - what I would describe to be a fine dining version of tapas cuisine. The idea is to order 3 - 5 dishes depending on how hungry you are and if you are sharing with someone. Dishes are approx $8-15 each for smaller plates, then $23-$35+ for larger mains. The waiting staff were very accommodating, they were quick to pick up that we preferred a quiet place to sit and therefore brought us to the courtyard at the back, which was so peaceful with relaxing deep house music in the background. For starters we got the edamame with togarashi spice, this was a first for me and I found these so addictive! Highly recommended as a dish to start with while you’re waiting. The prawn dumplings with ginger sauce were like clouds on a plate. The pastry is so soft and melts in the mouth. The ginger sauce is buttery and I believe they put lemongrass in it. The mac n cheese croquette, being something I always like to order from places, was absolutely exquisite with the truffle sauce. A comforting side dish. But the highlight for me was the tuna lettuce tacos - the first bite was like an explosion to the pallet. Flavours of citrus, sweetness from the corn, soft creaminess of the fresh tuna bind together to create an incredible taste experience. They didn’t look like much at first, but oh my they exceeded expectations.

Walked in and WOW what a setting….we were the last to leave at 11 and sat at 6…. So atmospherically it was “ bangin’ ”…..timber, pressed tile…industrial vibes with a wall of top notch bottles on display…. Server was cold, she talked straight through us almost going past my shoulder….would love to say “she’s just having a bad night” but a regular behind me herd my discomfort and confirmed our discussion. We did try and use other servers throughout the night … they were fab! Food - we felt rushed… we had the “FEED US” for $75 per head. The bread that came out with the tomatoes and buffalo cheese was stale, the stake tasted like it had been flame torched. Sausage was a little dry but the taste saved it. I would like to say it was a memorable meal but writing this I can’t bring myself to remember it. Calamari was however lovely. Dessert came …. Saddest tiramisu I have ever had…. Now tell me this…. Who in their right mind puts a “cold” dessert on a “HOT” plate straight out of the dish washer… only to have it puddle in-front of our eyes. It was bland. It was a 1/4 of a cake slapped on a hot plate and served with no charm…. We asked for another dessert we were given a banana fool … with dry ice…. The server was blah about the theatrics and left most of the ice-cream in the pot it was brought out in… fair waste! Throughout the meal I never had my “yummmmmmm” moment. We were charged for the second dessert. Cocktails - fair to great… we had 5 between us … good selection … pretty drinks. Will I recommend or return … no. Over priced

Fantastic Dinner out at ‘Mr & Mrs’ with (6) of us, we opted for the $75.00pp Various meal selections. The Duck Liver Pate dish was superb, great to share for (3), but needed extra Croutons. Those that were ravishing the Pate, had limited Croutons to share between (3). Pate was 10/10 though. Also Highly recommend the Vegetable Dumplings with pepper sauce & chilli Oil- amazing! The ‘Hamburger Cigars’- I would also go back any day for. So delicious. The Bread & Butter Pudding needed more sultanas & perhaps could have been infused with a touch of Alcohol, as it was slightly plain in flavour. I’m a huge fan of Pear Cider- I would also recommend a different brand- ‘Mr Finch’ as the brand I drank there was bitter & lacking Pear flavour. Would definitely go back, ‘Star Chef’ and lovely staff.

Firstly the place is called Mr & Mrs P ... its near the railway line on Bay Street Brighton. It's a super place to come for a buzzy fun filled night with friends. Food is outstanding - small share style plates ranging from duck to zucchini flowers. Wine list falls on the lower end of the scale but an okay selection and a solid cocktail list - but the venue is more about cool tunes, great food and an environment where you can feel comfortable eating on your own, or catching up with 4 old school friends -come eat, drink and laugh out loud ... the service is also best in class. Highly recommended !!!!

spectacular spot and a real hidden gym!!! everything about the place is absolutely phenomenal. the staff were so accommodating and professional, took the time to go through the menu and dishes for us and always made sure to check in on us. we're truly impressed by the bartenders as well and their attention to detail to every drink! vibes were immaculate thanks to the interior and live music performance by local artists. i must say this place deserves more attention and really recommend this for a date night with friends and your partner! will definitely come back soon!
