Heng — Restaurant in Melbourne

THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAVE IN MY HOSPITALITY LIFE ! FOR REAL . I NEVER HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS ON REVIEW BUT HAVE TO SHARE THIS WITH THE GIRL NAME “ MIN” WORK HERE. All THE OTHER STAFFS ARE NICE . WE CAME AT 9:20 and THey AGREE TO GIVE US A TABLE AND TOLD US TO ORDER IN 10’ before the kitchen close . AND WE HAPPY TO ORDER IN 5’ . With 5 meals and wine . Around 9:40’ they brought the fooods out . And at 9:56’ they come and ask me to pay when we eating . We fine with that as we in hospitality . We understand that , but then when we try to finish our foods . At 10:13 . The girl name Min came to our tbl and said very rude attitude:” we closing at 10:00 and now 10:12 we closing . Are you guys finish ? “ Then we said we trying to finish the food let give us 5’ . And she said do u need a take away box? And I repeat we trying to finish it . And she didn’t care about what im say . She repeated rudely “ Do u need a take away box?” Then we just said no we trying to finish. And then she just dont listen and collected all the dishes which is still have food and we still eating . She just collected it when we still hold the chopsticks on our hands. And walk away. We just shocked 🤯 with that attitude which is unacceptable in hospitality. We ll never come back that place agajn . They shouldn’t accept us to the tbl if they think customers can finish that much meals in less than 1 hour. That girl MIN is super mean and rude , she make the whole team and the restaurant very bad experiences. Worst experience and worst attitude...

We had dinner over there. Chosen the gold buffet package (the top package) .however it was disappointment experience. As a Thai restaurant, the dipping sauce is like the soul for the Thai dishes. However, there only offer 1 sauce for grilled meat and 1 yellow spicy sauce for cold dishes. Where is the green and red spicy sauce ? Is this a Thai restaurant or what? The waiting time for each order were extremely long. The 1st dishes came after 30min after we sat down. The whole experience was like 30min wait long for the dishes and 5 min to finish the dishes. And you expect customer to start and finish in 90min. What a joke? The service is extremely disorganized. I watched the hotpot plate got burned and no staff spotted that and added water. 4.Aircon doesn’t work properly and tables were set up so closely. I think I was having a meal by taking chance to get Covid. 5.restroom were dirty and no paper towel, no hand dryer. Offered toilet roll paper instead. Well done! The ice cream was the signature of the night, but that’s it, a sticky rice was not sticky, the mango was not sweet Raw beef were not m9 grade, Oz tongue were out of order. Nothing as advertised as the menu.

I wish anyone plan to visit this restaurant take another consideration, maybe try nana next door is a better option.Good luck to your business. It is a shame you called your restaurant as Thai local food hall. I have been to Bangkok, and other place in Thailand many times, and your food are even below Bangkok street...

Bad experience and never come back !!!

Food: 2 stars (nothing is special, basic cook frozen and bottle sauces)

Service: 2 stars (missing items and ads menu is not order menu)

Quality - quantity: 1 star (not happy at all)

I went there with my family and friends after watching so many good reviews and video on tiktok and social media.

First of all, the FOH staff gave us the menu with pretty pictures to have look and discuss while they were cleaning the table. Then, we ordered by an A4 paper with half of dishes (maybe more) out of order. The waitor kept saying sorry hundred times. What is the point of giving the pretty menu before ordering then saying sorry we dont have this and that?

Second, the food come with very small portion, we paid $12.9 for 4 pieces of Fried chicken, $23 for 1 fillet of baramundi (picture below). Moreover, showing picture is amazing whole baramundi with pretty garnish, actual dishes is as picture below (awful).

Next, the price can be a bit high because of restaurant position (CBD Mel), but the quality was very upset. For example, the baramundi is deep fry a frozen fillet then top with bottle sweet chilli. Garnish was awful as well. Is this worth for $23?

Last, we need to ask for desert twice then staff said "let me check" but Im sure he just add it in at the time we asked. And, we need to cancel one desert because it was too late to wait.
