Went there with a mate and we ordered a couple of cocktails. I ordered the Bramble and my mate ordered the Red Velvet - both costing $24 each.
I received my Bramble which seemed like a large drink due to the cup size it came in, but when you took into account how 90% of the cup was filled with shaved ice it felt like I was ripped off.
I talked to one of the staff members (American sounding accent and had face piercings) about this and he was very rude. He said that he was, "sorry I was deceived by ice" and that he couldn't do anything to make it right. He was very condescending and passive aggressive and refused to make it right.
His colleague told him that once he was finished making the other patrons drink he would listen to my complaint. Ben was very helpful and agreed the drink wasn't quite up to standard. He asked how he could make it right and I accepted a small shot of gin for the whole ordeal.
This place needs a total revamp if they want to stay in the game in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe overall atmosphere of the place is OK. Nevertheless I've had a few unpleasant experiences here. For example, one time I took a friend there who doesn't drink alcoholic beverages, and they basically just refused to serve him unless he'd order something alcoholic. I said I'd pay the full cocktail price for a mocktail and they just outright refused. It was all very strange. For another example, I tried to drop in for a drink earlier tonight and the service was very bad. It's kind of hard to explain the situation, but basically I began to ask if the bar was still open, and then corrected myself mid-sentence (since it clearly was), and then got a smart-arse reply from a member of the staff. The member of staff then proceeded to spend the next few minutes boasting to his friend about how he didn't get the position because of his social skills. The other staff member just laughed along with the tirade. After a few minutes of waiting for service and not getting any, I left shaking my head. Long story short, I think the place would be improved by better customer service. I wouldn't recommend the place as it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here at ten pm with a friend and we both ordered drinks from the bar and then went and sat out the front. After about ten minutes a manhattan and house beer which I had to ask for repeatedly despite the fact that the music wasn't that loud (which is a thing to note- cool quiet place) we were served and charged on a wireless EFTPOS system a total of $40. For two drinks. I asked for a breakdown of the bill and was told that the cocktails are expensive and timely. It wasn't happy hour at all. Anyway the vibe here is absoultuley on cue. Like somewhere that you'd expect to find in Fitzroy such as the Night Cat. Curbside-collection style couches fill the booths lit by plush red lighting. There is also an outdoorish area that takes up the entrance to the Chapel Street Bazaar at night. Overall if this is a leg of a pub crawl before the final destination of Revvs which is right next door then I strongly suggest getting here for the happy hour and drink with pleasure in a nice...
