I had my 40th in the gallery room with about 35 people. Whilst planning in the lead up, emailing back and forth with the team at D.O.G, they were always responsive and easy going. We had ordered burgers and chips for approx 40 people and multiple people told me it was "the best burger they ever had." Even the meat eaters who accidentally ate the plant based version didn't even realise! Considering it was a pretty rowdy crowd, the staff were so chill, responsive and accommodating. The food was late coming out, I had to ask about it twice, and I think they maybe needed more staff to collect glasses, but that was not an issue, probably because they were too busy with the rest of the bar. And they were so friendly and quick to address these issues (not complaining!!). We also had a microphone and speakers set up and ready to go for our drag act and speeches which I wasn't expecting and was a nice touch. I can't recommend this place enough!!!! Will be having my...
Read moreWe went here after my best friend wedding, the owner and the staff are kind and nice. They have a full bar with liquor displayed neatly on the shelf and delicious vine, no red bull tho. However, the bartender was sweet enough to offer to mix Red Bull drink if we bring our own Red Bulls. It was very kind of them. We had a blast. The establishment has many layer to it, the main hall have table and chair with the bar, we hung out here first and slowly move to the inside of the bar, they have a photo booth on the right. I wish there were a small curtain covering some of the photo booth tho just for a little privacy when the bar is busy. In addition, in the heart of the bar, there are two pool tables and some tables around. It was very cozy and nice. There are also a private area on the second floor if we decided to throw a private event, it was a very nice overall experience....
Read moreHave been frequenting this place since it was known as the Anchor and had a nautical/ surf/bric-a-brac vibe and it was much more sleepy then. Great for a quiet pint after work or a less quite pint later on. The only downside was the lack of food and early close time( but they did let you bring your own food in which was 🔥). It has since reinvented itself as Death or Glory, trading in the seashells and fishing nets for Grunge skate vibes, later close times and a full food menu to boot. Still same friendly staff and cheap great times to be had. It’s like loosing a good friend, but gaining a best friend during grieving period. Both versions of this establishment are awesome and don’t come with the pretension that you expect from other. Chapel st digs. The Anchor is dead, long live death...
