I went to kfc in hawthorn today and everything else was great, the staff that gave my friend her food was good as well as the food and it was nice inside, however, while me and my friend were waiting for her name to be called, I was standing near the screens where you order your food and it was quite busy inside so it was quite loud, and an employee was trying to get past me but I didn’t realise. She must of said “excuse me” before I realised she was there, however she said “excuse me” very loud in a very rude tone because I didn’t realise she was there. After I turned around, she looked at me and shouted something like “jeez I just have to keep repeating myself” at me as she walked past me. I’m sorry that I couldn’t hear you because it was so loud however I moved out the way as soon as I realised you were there and you decided to be even ruder by shouting at me again. I didn’t even get angry back at her when she shouted at me the first time, I was just shocked, even though I honestly had the right to be rude back and you’re lucky I didn’t, so yelling at me again AFTER I moved out the way was out of order. I get that you can be a little annoyed that i couldn’t hear you however that is not my problem and shouting at me TWICE is crazy rude… especially since it wasn’t my fault that I couldn’t hear you and especially shouting at a customer as an employee. Just letting you know that this happened around a few minutes after 1:33 pm after my friend placed her order today (monday 26th of may) and I’d say the employee was a young woman who was on the bigger side who was taking a bag of rubbish into the back. I hope you know which employee this is because I honestly wouldn’t be suprised if she’s gotten bad reviews before if she thinks it’s okay to shout in a customers face even though they didn’t do anything wrong. Anyways love this kfc apart from the...
Read moreUpdate: after I raised my concerns via the KFC App, someone from KFC reached out to me and apologized, promised that they will improve training and COVID measures. She also offered me a store credit equivalent to my meal.
I went in to redeem my free meal today 10Nov without realising the store credit expired 2 days ago, but the manager still allowed me to use it.
They have indeed improved their COVID measures, with staff rubbing alcohol sanitiser on hand before handling food and after each transaction. They also removed the single use items from the counter (you can still get them from the staff).
Below is the original review.
Very slow and poor staff. Poor health and safety management during pandemic.
I placed my order in advanced on my way to it, when I got there, my name was the only one on the screen. But the staff proceeded to pack 2 orders that were placed after mine before getting around to mine. What's worse is that there were 3 staff who touched my food during packaging, one who even touch her mask without wash or sanitise her hand before/after.
Not to mention they have napkins and hand wipes on the counter, I saw an elderly man takes some of the wipes then put them back.
I will avoid this KFC during...
Read moreI was recently in your store and witnessed something genuinely foul. One of your staff members easy to spot, built like a beach ball and carrying herself with the energy of someone who’s never been told “no” went off at a customer in a way that was completely unnecessary. The customer, who I later found out is partially deaf, didn’t respond immediately when asked to move. Instead of using basic patience or, I don’t know, an ounce of emotional intelligence, this staff member snapped. She yelled twice something along the lines of “I’m going to keep repeating myself until you move!” Not once did she stop to consider why she wasn’t being heard. No awareness. No professionalism. Just pure aggression. The girl she was yelling at looked stunned, frozen, completely caught off guard. And the rest of us? Silent. No one knew how to respond, because what do you even say when a grown adult throws a tantrum in uniform? If this is the kind of staff you’re happy to keep loud, hostile, no understanding of disability or basic customer service then that says more about your management than...
