A nice little Japanese eatery in South Melbourne. I first went there on the weekend for brunch. We decided to sit outside 'coz my friend brought a dog with him.
I ordered Ebi Katsu Burger, which is the pankp fried prawn burger. I truly enjoyed it. The burger is every good. The fried prawn is so soft and crunchy. Their chips are good too. My friend ordered the Japanese Curry with Chicken Katsu or panko crumbed fried chicken. OMG, I almost wanna tell him 'Can we swap?'. The best Japanese Curry I have tried. Well they also serve it with brown rice. Another 10 points added. We also ordered Creamy Crab Croquettes to share. It is equally yummy. We ended the meal with Green Tea Ganache Cake, which I think is okie okie. A bit sweet for my liking. They also serve great Match Latte. Happy weekend.
I took a friend to try out soon after. The staff members always welcome you with big smile. I made a booking for 6pm on a Tuesday. When I arrived, I don't think they were aware that there was booking made. It's confirmed on the app. Anyway, I got a table, so don't really mind at all. All good.
This time was dinner time, we ordered the Kakiage Shredded Veggies Tempura, it's so light and crunchy. Well don't forget the Matcha powder seasoning, it added additional flavour to the tempura. Yum. Who said only Korean knows how to made the fried chicken. Their Karaage Japanese Fried Chicken is very yummy and moist. I believe the secret is the vinaigrette dipping sauce. It enhances the flavour beautifully.
Last time I love the Japanese Curry so much that I ordered again but this time with Grilled Chicken. Trying to be healthy. It's also very good, but definitely the fried one is much better. We also ordered Agedashi Tofu Set Meal. We both love tofu and it didn't disappoint us. We loved every bite. We ended the dinner with the Japanese Cheesecake, which is what we expect. It's very light and it...

I visited on a Sunday winter morning at 11am expecting queues at the door but thankfully it was chill! Only a few tables inside but they also have outdoor seating. Our group was immediately greeted by a friendly waitress and we were sat at a table inside.
You order your meals and drinks via barcode where you can view the entire menu. Unfortunately the Japanese cheesecake was sold out which I really wanted to try but I was happy to at least order the breakfast platter which I was most excited about and it did not disappoint! Every part of the plate was delicious. My favourite was the salmon with egg and potato mash and the tempura prawn with mushroom rice. Soba noodles were fresh and went well with everything also.
My friends ordered the Chicken katsu curry and the sando. The curry with rice was also exceptionally good however the sandwich wasn’t very tasty as the mustard flavour was quite overpowering.
Coffee is good and if you order a large it comes in a big ceramic cup. Very aesthetic.
The interior itself is cute and quirky. Staff were very happy and friendly. One waiter asked if we were warm enough because we sat closest to the door and offered to shut it. We weren’t fussed but we found it very nice of him to ask.
I will happily visit again and hope to try the cheesecake with a matcha...
Read moreDate of visit: 10 December 2019, 12:30pm. This a small, popular cafe, that had a Japanese atmosphere (compared to cafes I've been to in Japan) though the decor was bright and light. We were a party of four and were lucky to get a table immediately upon arrival - there appeared to be only two tables large enough (maybe 3). This is a place where you will experience a wait if it is busy. There are outdoor tables to eat at and these also started to fill during our visit. The wait staff were attentive and helped with deciding a meal for one of our party. We ordered two bento boxes, a chicken katsu curry and a grilled chicken curry. The bento boxes looked appealing,, they were served cold - the two in our group who ordered them enjoyed those meals. The ckicken katsu curry had a genuine/authentic tasting curry, and the side salad also tasted authentic. The crumb of the chicken katsu was heaveier and stronger crispiness than what I've experienced in Japan (either it was fried differently, or a different crumb or both). The grilled chicken - same curry sauce and salad - no complaints for that diner. We had after meal coffees and sat around chatting. We did not feel any pressure to leave, i think the main lunchtime crowd had dissipated. I recommend a visit to this cafe. Turn up early though to get a table, expect a possible wait at...
