Taco Bill South Melbourne is a fun, vibrant spot that always delivers great Mexican food and some of the best margaritas around. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and ready to enjoy yourself — casual, welcoming, and full of colour and energy.

The food hits all the right notes. Generous portions, bold flavours, and a menu that covers everything from tacos and enchiladas to sizzling fajitas and hearty mains. It’s classic, comforting Mexican that’s perfect for sharing with friends or enjoying as a satisfying meal on its own.

But the star of the show has to be the margaritas. Fresh, zingy, and perfectly balanced, they’re easily some of the best you’ll find in Melbourne. Whether you go for a classic lime or one of the flavoured options, they’re consistently excellent — the perfect mix of sweet, sour, and refreshing, with just the right kick. It’s worth coming here for the margaritas alone.

The service is always friendly and upbeat, which adds to the fun atmosphere. Staff are attentive without being overbearing, and they keep things moving smoothly even when the restaurant is buzzing.

The space itself is casual and lively, with plenty of personality. It’s the sort of place that works just as well for a casual midweek dinner as it does for a group celebration on the weekend.

Taco Bill South Melbourne is all about good times, generous food, and incredible margaritas. For anyone in the area looking for a laid-back night out with plenty of flavour and a drink that never disappoints, it’s...

I’m trying to book dinner we found a couple of branches have closed since our last visit (camberwell and greensborough) so found ourselves here. Disappointingly they wouldn’t make flautas, and whilst they aren’t on the menu anymore whenever I’ve enquired at the now closed branches they always accomodate given all of the ingredients are on hand. Potentially if the waiter had actually asked the kitchen they may have but he just said I don’t know what that is (which is maybe concerning if you work at a Mexican restaurant)

I had a quesadilla instead which was fine but not as enjoyable as my preferred order. Maybe next time

Original review Consistency is key and Taco Bill delivered that again. My friend and I were pleased with our dishes, she always gets the combination and I tried it for the first time figuring variety was a good option.

Visually it was awful. The beans looked like slop and it wasn’t appealing from an aesthetic perspective but I enjoyed the flavours and soon found out that downing anything in sour cream makes you forget about appearances. I was charged something like $2 each to get a little pot of sour cream and one of guacamole (I didn’t much care for the complimentary salsa) which was a sound investment in flavour elevation. Would skip the combo next time in favour of just the...

The food and atmosphere was amazing, the wait staff were great. However as we did not present the 50% off mains voucher at the time of payment (the person paying didn’t realise we had a voucher), the manager (Abdul) refused to accept the voucher when it was presented and amend the transaction, saying “it’s not possible to refund” as he didn’t have the authority. I’ve never been to a business which a refund or a discount can not be done after the transaction was made. The manager should have an authority to be able to give us the discount as we received an email informing about 50% discount. The reason why we went to the venue today is because of it. The voucher says it “must be presented to redeem the offer”, an understanding business concerned with customer service would have refunded the difference. Terrible situation and Abdul informed that has happened with another clients. It means it is a situation that needs to be rectified . A disappointing end to an otherwise good night.

I hope other clients don’t have the same issues. I am really...

The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. When I first arrived, the waitress brought some chips and salsa. I was pleased that I wasn't treated differently just because I had an EatClub reservation. I ordered the popcorn prawns, prawn & scallop quesadilla, and Fandango Mango frozen margarita. It was all served piping hot and quickly. The servings were very generous – I was barely able to finish the meal! I loved the spiciness and crispness of the popcorn prawns – I especially loved the generous bowl of chipotle aioli (all too often, restaurants provide a sauce bowl that is barely adequate for half the serving!). The quesadilla was excellent. It's a bit of a messy/deliciously ugly dish – but with emphasis on the "delicious". I thoroughly enjoyed the frozen margarita – I can see why it's a Taco Bill's trademark! Taco Bill South Melbourne is definitely one of the best Taco Bill stores in Melbourne and, after a previous negative experience at a neighbouring store, it's improved my opinion of the franchise.

Had booked a table for my birthday at the Russell Street Taco Bill (everything was confirmed) get there to find it's closed and the contact number was going straight to voice mail! Called the Taco Bill contact number for head office but it (luckily) took me through to South Melbourne's restaurant, they understood my frustration and offered a table there and half priced meals, which is already amazing but they really out did it! The service was incredible! Free tequila shots for us all, I got my meal for free, free dessert, fun stick on moustaches, I even got a taco bill temporary tattoo put on me as well! And to top it off I got given a free drink card for my next visit! Really saved and made my birthday dinner the best! I'm glad that Russell street was closed because the South Melbourne Taco Bill is 100% better in so many ways! Cannot recommend enough! Thank you to the wonderful team there!
