● Dec 2024 ● 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 Stars We came back again ... I still couldn't give 5 stars and there is a reason why. We were mostly happy with food and service overall.

I found that calamari fritters were quite bland. Carbonara tasted okay but I didn't quite like the artificial taste of cream. My partner is Italian and he cooks very good traditional carbonara. I was a little bit disappointed with this dish because I was hoping for more traditional one. However, it did say on the menu with bacon and cream. Pizza was great. We tried creme brulee this time. The burnt sugar was a bit too thick but I like the taste of custard.

Again with my lemon lime bitter, it was completely flat like last time. I informed them and they changed it straight away. However, it was still flat. It barely had any fizzy so I told them whe asked if it's better. They said they use a new sprite as they don't use lemonade brand. Not only that, they suggested that I should order lemon lime bitter with soda instead if I like it fizzy. So I was like ... a little speechless. Maybe it was a genuine suggestion or maybe not. I'm not sure.

I used to work in restaurant for a long time and made a lot of lemon lime bitters in my days and even at home because it's onr of my favorite drinks. Well, in my opinion, it was flat because if how it was poured into the glass. If you pour it high and quickly, it can loose the fizziness pretty quickly. You might think why am I going on about this and what is the big deal. Anyway, I just want to share my experience and thoughts.

Thank you for your service. We'll come back but I probably won't be ordering LLB again.

● Nov 2024 ● 🌟 🌟🌟🌟 4 Stars First time in November 2024 and it was amazing. This is probably the best pizza 🍕 by far we have had in Melbourne. Service was spectacular, very attentive and acted quickly when assistance required.

Talk about food, pizza was great. I love the crisp and surprisingly the bottom was thin but it wasn't soggy at all with heaps of toppings too. Spaghetti was good. You can tatse the sea water because seafood was fresh. Aranchini was delicious. I like bolognese sauce on the side as a dipping sauce as well. It lifted the flavor and they were well-seasoned.

A little one star down, my drink was flat but they fixed it straight away once I told them. So it was good response and quickly too. I wasn't impressed by tiramisu though. It's a little too sweet and taste a bit artificial with the cream.

All and all, we definitely come back for food and service. I'd like to give 5 stars 🌟 for our next visit. Thank you for...

On Sunday the 22/10/2023 we had a reservation for 19 people for a birthday lunch, my brother's 18th birthday with our closest family. To begin with, we had booked this a month in advance, we booked the feed me/food package where we paid per head to have antipasto entrees, pizzas & dessert (birthday cake). There were a total of THREE people working at the entire restaurant. A male waiter with long dreadlocks, a female and ONE cook in the kitchen. The service was appalling. The front of house staff were impatient and rude, they had a terrible attitude throughout the time that we were there. I had ordered a carafe of white wine and found an ant floating in my glass (I had not taken a sip at all), I had simply called the waitress over to ask her for a new glass and to refill the carafe as there was an ant inside, she brought the glass back to show her male colleague who had a sour face, rolling his eyes as if it was my fault and I should have accepted an ant in my wine. The waitress came back with a new glass and the topped up carafe, there was yet ANOTHER small insect in my glass and I alerted them once again, I was not upset or annoyed, I actually told them these things happen and it's ok, but the eye rolls and attitude I received were uncalled for as I do not carry a bag of insects to put into my glass to inconvenience staff members before I even take a sip… The service was so slow and food came out one pizza at a time.. Between 19 people. The food itself wasn't bad and I do understand it must have been hard for the chef on his own but it made no sense to have only 1 chef when they knew about our booking + the other walk ins that could have come in. Overall, do not recommend and will not be back, it was extremely disappointing and they made not efforts to make the service special for an 18th birthday let alone a pleasant experience. The music was good though, nice playlist that suited...

I had the pleasure of celebrating my 30th birthday lunch with 30 friends at Ladro on Saturday 6/4/2024 and I only have high praises for the team!

Sean made the organising process so easy. I opted for the $45 a head feed me menu and to have my birthday cake as dessert. My cake was made in-house by the team. I told them I wanted something along the lines of a simple three tier sponge cake with lots of fruits and they delivered it with an Italian twist. My friends were raving about how pretty it was and many asked where I got it from! The food was delicious and there was plenty to go round - so much that we had to takeaway some pizzas home!

The Ladro team are extremely accomodating. I was able to have the space from 12 - 5pm to allow for a relaxed, lazy, long lunch. I told them about the guests dietary requirements and they were able to cater accordingly with no fuss. They are also children friendly (the FOH staff loved my friends baby). Shout out to Lionel who would always check in with my boyfriend to see when would be a good time to bring out the starters/mains/cake and if we wanted candles +/- sparklers on the cake while I was busy mingling.

I'm so happy with how the day went. I highly recommend Ladro if you're looking for a nice, relaxed meal or wanting to...

A good place for good thin crust pizzas with very compact seating. This place offers gluten free and normal pizzas with delicious toppings that won't make you feel heavy. We enjoyed our tasty Porcini and Gorgonzola and Pescatore seafood pizzas, which came in a 6-slice portion size. The thin, crispy base doesn't detract from the flavours, a job well done. They brought out the pizzas unsliced with a pizza cutter. We were puzzled whether this is supposed to add to the experience but suffice it to say neither of us will earn a living from our pizza cutting skills. They offered us a second cutter but I'm sure it's the user not the tool that will speed up the process. Friendly and efficient service in a simple, modern and functional space, Ladro is worth checking out in this competitive neighborhood.
