Had lunch at your restaurant today at about 2:30pm but we have a terrible experience that l would like to bring to the restaurant owner’s or management’s attention. While your waiter brought food to our table, he had carelessly spilled the hot and spicy soup on my daughter’s right hand. Instead of checking on my daughter’s condition for any burns or injuries, the waiter concerned quickly brought a cloth to clean up the mess on the table. I was angry and confronted him whether my daughter’s hand or cleaning the table was more important. He just stared at me without saying a word or offering any apology. In such a situation, l was furious and asked him again why was he cleaning the table but not attending to my daughter - checking on her condition and well-being? Then an elderly waiter came over to apologize (not in a friendly or apologetic manner) for the incident. My daughter went out to the rest room to attend to her burned hand accompanied by her brother. The elderly waiter mentioned that the said waiter was new and l brushed him aside for the remark telling him that the waiter’s careless mistake was the restaurant’s training inefficiency and NOT an excuse for the incident. Later, an elderly waitress brought a hand cream for my daughter to apply on the affected hand and l asked her who was the manager on duty? She told me that the manager was at the cashier counter (which was near our table) and she went over to inform him. However, the manager did not come over to enquire about my daughter’s condition and he pretended to be busy doing other things and just ignored us as if nothing had happened ! This kind of indifferent attitude from the manager was definitely not acceptable. What is your restaurant’s SOP on spilling of hot soup on customers? Is this your way of handling this kind of incident and not caring for the affected party’s well-being? Or is it that your business is too good that you could not be bothered about losing a few disgruntled customers. I would like to reiterate that this careless mistake could have been avoided and l am extremely disappointed by the lame excuse provided by the elderly waiter ( that the waiter was new) and the “couldn’t care less” attitude of your...
Read moreI highly recommend trying this restaurant with your family and friends. The restaurant itself It is located in the heart of Chadstone shopping complex with a modern renovation mixed in rather authentic and beautiful Chinoiserie decorations. With plenty of clean and big dining tables inside a spacious premises and lovely staffs, I felt like very welcome and looked after.
The food and service. The waiter was very nice and recommend us with their signature dishes. Peking duck is properly the best I have had in Melbourne and must try. I love the way this dish was presented. It has the dipping sauce and chopped spring onions and cucumber. I also love the little steamed crust. It is also a big serve and loads of duck breast meat. The roasting was also very good on duck meat. Fish flavored shredded pork- a signature Sichuan dish, it is a mixed flavor of fish sauce and sweet spicy sauce. The chef balanced all irrelevant and identical taste and created the unique dish. It is quite common dish in China, and I have heard back in the country, people usually use this dish to judge how good a chef is. Spicy boiling fish, another signature Sichuan dish, I personally love spicy food. The Sichuan peppercorn and chili pepper is splashed by boiling cooking oil which make the chili less spicy. I travel to China very often and I reckon this is the best you could get in Melbourne. There is no difference than what I had in China, Same dish. Big thumb up to the chef. A corn dish which soaked in a salted egg yolk paste and decorated with green veggie. the taste is so special and our kids finished the whole dish and required for more. Chicken soup in a coconut. I mean this soup just made my day. It was steamed on stove for hours inside a coconut. Highly recommended. Black pepper corn steak. Juicy diced steak stir fried with semi cracked black pepper corn flakes and a perfect touch of salt wrap around the meat, also topped with fresh green pea. How could you possibly go wrong. I absolutely loved it. We also ordered some cold dishes, these ones are recommended. YOU...

I used to dine here quite often, sometimes twice a week when shopping at Chadstone. Unfortunately, today’s experience was completely different — and unacceptable.
I raised a concern about one of the dishes (stir-fried pork kidney with chili, $28.80). An older gentleman initially listened politely, but then another staff member came over in a very rude, unapproachable, and inappropriate manner. He even raised his voice at me, assuming I didn’t understand Cantonese. This is Australia — treating customers that way is beyond disrespectful.
For reference, I’ve attached a photo of what I ordered and paid for at 6:10 pm. The dish included something disgusting that clearly did not belong there — it looked like the head of something, not pork kidney. Instead of addressing my concern, the staff member kept insisting it was part of the dish, as if I was trying to avoid paying. Absolutely insulting.
My total bill was $155, including lobster. I never even asked for a refund, but the way I was treated made me feel humiliated, especially with other staff looking at me strangely.
In the end, I paid the full bill, but let me be clear: rude staff, rude restaurant. Congratulations — you’ve lost a regular customer. Good luck with your business, because after today, I truly hope others choose...
