We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend who had good taste. There is plenty of parking and a cute front entrance. At first, we thought this might not be what we were looking for, but we have been to Asia many times, and these gems are where you find fabulous food. The beautiful aroma of spicy Korean cuisine and the smiling, friendly staff welcomed us. It was an excellent start. We were seated quickly and handed some menus. The variety of food on offer was just right. I'm not too fond of those 50-page Menus. The service was quick, and the food was served at the perfect temperature. The Spices are a little hotter, as we asked for it. Next time we dine here, we will dial it back a little so that I can feel my tongue. The whole night was superb. We used to fine dining. What a waste of time that was. This is what Korean people eat at home. If you go to a Korean restaurant, this is precisely what you want. If you want Chinese food, go to a Chinese restaurant etc. We loved it. We had to ask for four boxes to take the leftover food, as we could not finish them all. Food like this tastes better the next day. I enjoyed it again today. We will certainly go back. We loved the place. Thank you. DO NOT change...

We paid $40 for whole boneless chicken which was a very small serve. Flavours were nice but can’t justify the price to the serving size.
Main issue was the Tyeok-bokki. We politely asked if we could swap the fish cake for ham , which was a hard no. We received a container of watery soup with 8 rice cakes.. some of them undercooked and quite firm for $18.
We rang to have this replaced or a credit to the value of $18.. after 10 minutes of the staff chatting back and forth they said no and that they gave us 10 rice cakes which wasn’t true..and said thank you for the feedback and attempted to end the phone call. We then advised them unfortunately this will be reflected in the review we post online.
Food has nice flavours but the price is far too high for the quantity provided. The Kimchi fried rice was so small.. $18.. if the customer service was a priority to this business we would return.. unfortunately not.
EDIT: THE owner politely reached out and offered to replace to meal and this time it was at a very high standard and it was greatly appreciated,...
Read moreLui Boss is located in the heart of the Preston Market. It is a small restaurant but its food packs a punch and is great value.
Our table of 8 visited midday week and were a little surprised that we were the only patrons to visited the restaurant that night. We could see plenty of Uber Eats orders flying out the door.
We ordered prawn Mandoo (very similar to gyoza), and kimchi pancake to share, then each of our party ordered their own mains. Lots of lui boss burgers, kimchi fried rice, beef bulgogi and corn dogs were ordered. Also ordered the Korean fried chicken for the table. There was sooooo much food and it was all delicious! Just the right amount of spiciness. We also really enjoy the Soju cocktails…. Delicious!
The only issue some of the mains came out with the entrees and some of our party has to wait for mains whilst others tucked in.
I highly recommend Lui Boss for a great feed of...
