Being American, I usually consider the bar to be on the floor when it comes to burger joints in Australia, yet some places (like the all too popular Grill’d) somehow tend to always get it wrong. Metro Burgers is decidedly not one of these bastardised burger joints, and whilst being wholeheartedly Australian inspired, with beetroot and crocodile (!!) on their burgers, they manage to keep the spirit of a classic burger joint. I got the Metro Wagyu Burger with bacon, and my boyfriend got the Metro Supreme. The bun was perfectly toasted, but still incredibly soft, the patty was juicy, and the bacon was perfectly crispy without being too tough for the burger. I think this is one of the best burgers I have had in my life. However, the best part of Metro Burgers isn’t even the burger - it was the top tier thickshake that I got along with the meal. Topped high with whipped cream and sprinkles it was a classic milkshake, another thing that most Aussie joints tend to get horribly, horribly wrong. Overall, I was very pleased (and a little surprised) by the quality of this place - another W for...

Their crocodile fillet burger was pretty impressive. The buns were nicely grilled and the overall mix of vegetables and sauces provided a refreshing take on burgers.

The crocodile fillet came in somewhat rounded strips, so no slab of meat here. It was my first time having crocodile, and I must say it looked and tasted almost like chicken, but tougher (though not to the extent of being overcooked), and with occasional chewier bits that I presume are its gristle.

The chilli does linger a bit on your lips, but it's nothing major - those not used to spiciness might require some water though.

I was considering dropping a star since it was a bit pricey and I got less food than I'd hoped. But since I'm no local and have nil idea of the proper pricing, 5 stars it is.

If you're a guy with a moderate appetite, consider adding on fries to the meal.

Service was great, and the cosy small shop both works for and against it. Took a star off the atmosphere because you'll probably smell of food if the...

Have you ever come across a burger menu that offers kangaroo, emu, or crocodile fillet as options?

Metro Burgers have a range of specialty burgers featuring these unique ingredients and more! These burgers are prepared to order right before your eyes in an open kitchen, using fresh ingredients to craft exceptionally delicious, perfectly medium-rare burgers. The burger buns themselves are light and fluffy, while the fries are crispy and make for the perfect side to complement the burgers. To top it off, the strawberry thickshake that was wonderfully airy and satisfying!

The burger joint is managed by a delightful duo, and the place has a cozy, vintage/rustic ambiance - which was a vibe.

Metro burgers kindly invited me out to try out their burgers. Overall, I could not fault anything at metro burgers and was thoroughly impressed with everything! I am sooo keen to try out their other specialty burgers. I haven’t tried emu before so that might be...
