REVIEW: šā The crown jewel of our meal was the Pan-fried seafood dumplings. If you've had a fried crab claw before, the filling of Mr Huang Jin's pan-fried seafood dumpling was a great dupe. I couldn't taste the sharpness from the celery, so I loved this. However, since it's pan-fried I would've liked the bottom to be more brown to get that crunch. ā Xiao long bao had thin skin, with plenty of soup inside the bao. ā Pork and prawn wontons had a thin wrapped skin with delicious chilli sauce as well. ā Once you've had hot star chicken/2 peck Crispy Chicken's chicken, you can't go back to mid level taiwanese fried chicken again. š
š Service was straight forward. They're quick to give you attention when you're ready to order. Even without booking, we were also able to walk in and get a seat on a Friday night.
You're not going to get the best dumpling experience here, but it's a reliable dinner choice if you're in the area...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited on a Saturday evening. There was no one and very small and narrow in the restaurant. Seat get sunk once you sit and it was new to me and felt a bit wired.
Inside was cool which was good but too cold for me. I had to wear a cardigan.
Ordered duck spring rolls (very tasty and filling, decent size)
Veg rolls (very salty because of soy sauce. Better ask to no or less soy sauce because you can add it yourself if you want. some part was kinda empty. It said on the menu soy bean paste in it apparently but couldn't notice)
Corn and chicken soup(Nothing wow but nice )
Brown Rice (Hot and well cooked)
Xiao Long Bao/Steamed pork dumplings (Flavoursome although a bit pricy)
Wagyu Beef (medium) with black pepper sauce (Expensive but worth it. Sauce was great. They poured sauce once bring beef on table. It was like a type/concept of sizzling beef. Great combination with rice. Wish there was broccoli and carrots on the side)
Pancakes (A bit oily but tasty. whipped cream helped the cut oiliness and sweetness)
A chinese girl was friendly and spoke good English.Service was quick. 5% off discount only if pay by cash. (not sure how long go for)
