I don’t usually write reviews, but after dining at PappaRich I felt compelled to share my unique experience, just in case anyone else is considering spending their hard-earned money here.

First off, let’s talk about portion sizes. I’ve honestly seen bigger servings at an airport lounge, and that’s saying something. For the price you’re paying, you’d think you were at least getting a meal that would leave you somewhat satisfied, but no. The dishes looked like they’d been plated for a child’s play kitchen — small, underwhelming, and definitely not worth the premium price tag. I left the table feeling like I needed to grab a snack on the way home, which is not exactly the feeling you want after a sit-down meal at a “restaurant.”

Then there was the chicken. Dry doesn’t even begin to cover it. Imagine cardboard, but with less flavour. It was stringy, tough, and honestly felt like it had been sitting under a heat lamp waiting for someone unlucky enough to order it. For a place that prides itself on Malaysian cuisine, I was expecting something juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. Instead, I got what I can only describe as the culinary equivalent of disappointment.

It’s almost impressive how the restaurant manages to combine high prices, tiny serving sizes, and dry meat into one unforgettable experience. Truly a masterclass — though not in the way you’d hope.

If you enjoy paying premium prices for minimal food that leaves you hungry and dry chicken that could double as shoe leather, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants that actually respect their customers’ appetites and wallets.

One star, only because zero...

PappaRich Chadstone is, without a doubt, the best PappaRich outlet in Melbourne. The food here brings back the familiar and heartwarming flavours of Singapore and Malaysia so authentically that we no longer feel the need to fly back just for a good meal. From the perfectly done half-boiled egg and kaya toast set to the rich and comforting fish noodle soup, every dish is spot-on.

What sets this outlet apart even more is the exceptional service. The staff are consistently warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. They’ve even remembered our family’s preference for the sofa seating and always try their best to make it available for us—a thoughtful gesture that keeps us coming back.

If you’re craving true Malaysian or Singaporean flavours, this is the place to go. PappaRich Chadstone doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia, comfort, and a genuinely...

Came into Chadstone and ordered online and waited 30-40mins. My partner got his meal, and we even got asked if we wanted to order more food. We then called someone over because my food hadn’t arrived. They said the kitchen was closing…

Turns out they didn’t even make it and had forgotten. Meanwhile my partners food got cold while he was waiting for my food and they were cleaning the store to close.

Previously we had bad experiences at chaddy, but thought maybe since the refurb the service had changed. Well apparently not…. Thanks for ruining my night and leading me NOT to have dinner tonight.

Have emailed, messaged and commented on instagram but they honestly don’t even care!!! Waste of time and money bothering with this place!!! Would score less...

We have revisited PappaRich Chadstone recently to try out their recent promotion ( nothing over $15) We were overwhelmed with the friendly services and the taste of the food here. We must say we were not expecting such high quality food. We’ve ordered the Signature Laksa (Tiger Prawns & Chicken) Double Roti Canai with Sauce (the promo) Chai Kueh Nevertheless their Laksa and Roti Canai is their part of their flagship dishes - it’s up there. But the Chai Kueh is really something you have to try, especially for those who have had them in the past in Malaysia or Singapore. You won’t expect places like PappaRich to replicate them so well made. We certainly did enjoy ourselves this evening.

Arrived 6pm on a Friday and was lucky to avoid the queue. Friendly service from the staffs. The menu in this PappaRich is different to others. Fewer options and more exp. Probably due to the location. Had the nasi lemak fried chicken, plain roti and curry puff. Fried chicken was crispy and moist inside. Could be more generous with the sambal. Extra sambal will cost 3 dollars. Roti looks crispy on the outside but very thick and doughy in the middle. The skin of the curry puff was flat and not flaky. Same as the roti, feels and taste as if the dough was not fully cooked. Will be back for sure, to try other dishes.
